This isn't a reflection on COE but the rather the Dallas County road maintenance folks. About 2 miles of Dallas Co Rd 77, before the campground entrance, looked and rode like a bombed out war zone. The campground only had a few campers and was very quiet. My assigned spot didn't have electric turned so I was able to move to a different spot. There was a dock to the side of the boat ramp that I was able to fish from. I was able to walk on the dock but it's getting to be in bad shape with some boards about to give way. Camp host was very nice. Funny thing happened with her. My GPS brought me just so far down Co Rd 77 before it said I had reached my destination. I pulled off on the side of the road to see if was on the right road. A car coming toward me had stopped and a woman waved at me to come on. It was the camp host and she assured me I was on the right road, that the entrance was about another mile further. She told me that electric at my assigned spot may or may not be working and if needed I could move to a different spot; just needed to let her know. She actually had the COE windshield display with her for my spot and gave it to me.

We really enjoyed camping at Six Mile Creek. When we arrived we realized our site was a ways from the bathrooms and in the midst of a group of other campers. We asked the camp host to move to another site - she was very helpful, told us to move to the desired site and called in the reservation change for us. Then drove by to check in on us in the morning. And.... the birding was phenomenal!

Absolutely love camping at 6 mile. Only complaint is it isn't open long enough during the year and the boat launch needs to be dredged.

Six Mile Creek is our favorite place to camp. We have been camping there for over 25 years . Just wish they had someone at the gate at all times.

This is a nice clean facility, although there is very limited bathroom space. The Bath facitlities are old, but clean. The park was very under utilized during our stay. We were one of only three campers at the site.Selma, AL is nearby and can be easily toured in a few hours. The area is very poor and run down, bu there is a rich Civil Rights history in the area.

Nice and quiet park. Would definitely stay here again. There was ongoing clean up from flooding.

A very quiet campground (we were the only campers). We felt safe. The gal who helped us was very welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We stayed here and visited the Civil Rights Museum in Selma.

The maintenance of this park was far below what we have come to expect from Corps of Engineers campgrounds

The area was not clean and had not been cleaned this year. I was the tables with soap and a Scrub brush. Very disappointing. I called and left a message and no one has returned my call.

We were one of two campers there for most of our stay so it was very quiet! The camp hosts were friendly. There as a washer and dryer available which was handy. A $1.00 wash and dry, but my loads required a second cycle. The hiking trails listed on the website were overgrown and not usable. The bathrooms could use an updated as the handicap chair was coming loose from the wall. That being said, we would go back.

Our camping trip to Six Mile Creek was wonderful. We camped there Wednesday through Saturday. The campsite is well laid out in a beautiful wooded area which provided privacy.
The camp ground was almost empty when we were there. The sites were gravel and level. We stayed in Site 28 and it was very nice. The shower house / bathroom was old, but it was clean and everything worked. Cell phone coverage was good, over the air TV was OK. The camp hostess was friendly.
We used our stay to do several day trips: into and around Selma to explore the Civil Rights trail area, and over into Tuskegee to see the Tuskegee Airmen Historic site and the Tuskegee Institute Historic Site.
We definitely recommend Six Mile Creek!

Sites are large and lovely with sites 15-20 having the best view. The showers/restrooms were not clean (unusable) and the building had rotting lumber. The camp hosts were gracious and helpful. The Selma Interpretive Center is well worth a visit.

We made reservations online to arrive April 1st. We arrived at the campground and there was no one around, no signs or anything, but all of the gates were open. We found our campsite and parked. When hooking up water we found there was none at ours or any other campsites. When we finally found a number that worked there was an answer the recording said they were closed for the winter and would open back up in the spring. The website should have showed this campground was closed.

Since they were dredging the boat landing and their equipment broke down and the water was tooo low for our pontoon to go out, we could do nothing but sit. We always vacation on the last week before six mile closes for the year and it was ruined by the dredging operation. Dont get me wrong, I was glad they dredged the boat landing but did they have to do it on the last weekend? Thanks

we really enjoyed the stay there -the only problem we had is the low water at the boat ramp trying to get to the river-we were turning up mud.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
