Nighttime illumination on the mountains, sunrise on the other mountains... the site we had was nicely sized and seemed reasonably distant from other sites. Had a sizable bear box.

There were people speaking a foreign language until well after 11 pm.In the morning, at 5:30 am, there were two separate dogs barking.We all know this makes for a poor camping experience. It seems the camp host expected us to get out of bed at oh dark 30 and come and get them to enforce the rules. It should not be this way. The online checkin is easy but apparently one does not even need to read the campground rules?The camp host apologized and his excuse was they were charging the golf cart batteries.Im guessing his legs were broken?

Lots of deer when we were there in late summer. Overall a clean and efficient campsite. Gravel on the ground for tent camping was a little uncomfortable but fine with a sleeping pad. Small fire pit and picnic table at each site, clean bathroom.

Very busy place, some campsites without any shadow.

Fantastic experience at Watchman! We stayed in early-Nov, having booked the last campsite available at the time in July. Campsite could not be in a better location. Short walk into the village for any supplies, food/drink, gear, etc., bus stop is right there, access to several trailheads nearby. We chose D037 and it was near enough other sites, but big enough and secluded enough that we didn't have any issues with noise or anything like that. Can't beat the views being right under the Watchman. Highly recommend!

Watchman campground has an awesome view of the Zion mountains and is close to hiking trails and town of Springdale.

Very nice and clean campground with decent views, well-stocked bathrooms. Will go back to explore more of ZNP.

We were in site D37, site has zero shade which was difficult during the peak temperatures of the day. Neighboring sites D35 and D39 had shade.
The parking at this site is barely suitable for 2 cars. We had 2 Toyota camrys, one parked normally, the other had to be diagonal since it won't fit next to the first car (assuming you want to be able to open the doors). With 2 larger cars it wouldn't be possible.

Bathrooms were clean, camp hosts super friendly. Lots of deer come very close to the site. Would stay at this campground again but would choose a different site

Need to have a large penalty for not canceling unused campsites. Too many no shows. A small (20-30 ) number of campsites should be set aside for daily walk ups that get shut out of the reservation system

Breathtaking experience. Campsite was clean and well kept. Wish there was water at the camp site, but there was water close enough near the restrooms. Wonderful experience

December 2021 - what a wonderful, well kept and organized park! It is a very busy park and for good reason - the canyon is awe inspiring. No shuttles run in early December, but that meant that the parking lots for the famous hikes fill very quickly early. No matter, there are plenty of other hikes to explore. Weeping Rock was closed due to rockfall so I intend on hitting that next time. The cold and wet weather in Dec kept the camp sites relatively empty (yay!), but the trails were still busy (boo!). I cannot wait to come back and explore more. Buy your Zion merch from the park Visitor Center to support the NPS. Then go eat at Switchback Grille on your way out. My very first NPS site cancellation in my new passport!

Very quiet and amazing dark skies. Beware of hungry wildlife and keep everything locked up (ice chest or waterproof storage containers). Rain is amazing while camping, but prepare with a nice tarp and telescoping tent poles to enjoy the experience). Tarp also highly recommended for sites with little or no shade.

Very pleasant campsite close to the visitor center at Zion
@JamieR1759946 · Camped on Jul 28, 2020 at Campsite #D37
It was stunning to be camped at the beginning of the canyon and convenient to be within walking distance of the visitor center, Virgin River, and hiking trails. Also close to Springdale. The restrooms were closed but there were port-a-potties available. There was no shade at our site, so it was really hot (end of July) until the sun dipped down below the mountain. We also were chased away by about 6 aggressive bees when we tried to cook breakfast. But the night was spectacular and quiet. I would stay there again during a cooler part of the year.
