Overall the campground was well kept, bathrooms were clean, happy to have a dishwashing station- good to see rangers patrolling in the evening and daytime. Camping pad was sufficient in size for a 4 person tent, could have fit another if needed. Didn't have any issues with people being loud at night. I wish there were a couple more bathrooms and at least one option for showers in the campground areas, the only option for showers is to go into town.It was fantastic to be able to walk to the shuttles at the visitor center, didn't need to drive at all during our stay. It was sad to see the cotton woods dead/dying at our site, Im assuming thats from drought conditions, from images at the time of registration they looked healthy.

D-Loop 032Great spot! Dear close by, tons of squirrels, and extremely convenient location. Bathrooms not too far. Accessible water, river, and visitor center is a short walk for catching the shuttle. Also short walk into Springdale. (Dont forget your receipt for entering the park.) everything you need close by and still a great camping experience.

Love it here. Havent had noise issues as others have. Maybe because it was late October.

Beautiful views! Excellent location. My kiddos were excited to see frogs, deer and even a tarantula in the campground. The campground was fairly quiet during the day. The campsite itself was a great size, however you are very close to your neighbors. It was a holiday weekend so keep that in mind but the bathrooms were gross, other campers used the feminine waste bins in the womens bathroom as a garbage can instead of using the dumpsters as noted on all of the signage so they were overflowing. Not all dumpsters were next to all of the bathrooms but they were close enough. Our first night was quiet the next two nights were filled with loud music, singing, and noise long after quiet hour began.

I would recommend finding a quieter campground, if possible. I reserved and stayed at a single-user tent campsite at Watchman Campground and the park placed large group with 40 students in the two single-user campsites adjacent to me. Apparently there was a problem with the group site that the group had reserved, so they were placed in non-group sites next to me and another tent camper with 2 people in their party.

Campground was crowded but most people abided by quiet hours and the bathrooms were clean enough.

The campground is well layed out and remarkably quiet during the day. We were tent camping for four nights, including a weekend, and this "quiet" was our daily experience. We think people leave early to explore the canyon or to move on. Campers checking in after noon do so in a trickle with numbers not swelling until late in the day. It makes for a nice camping experience. That and the no generator rule. We also have a class A, generator equipped motorhome but we manage just fine with a minimal solar system (the generator has not been used the past two years). Whoever came up with that no generater rule gets our vote for a promotion. We spent three days hiking the canyon trails. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular. The same can be said for the crowds of visitors, spectacular! The canyon experience is better when the shuttle is operating because you will be able to get to a trailhead. When the canyon is open to cars one's chances diminish dramatically. One late afternoon we drove the complete canyon road and didn't find one available parking place, none anywhere, let alone at the trail head we wanted. These are conditions to consider when planning your visit. If camping is your goal, you will probably not be disappointed. If experiencing the canyon is also important (of course it is) we would encourage you to visit when the shuttle is operating and be prepared to share the popular trails and features with lots of other visitors. We look forward to returning to the Watchman campground soon. Our up canyon experiences will be carefully calculated, including the shuttle and visiting the less popular trails. It's an amazing place. You have to go.Cheers

The campground is fantastic. We definitely recommend it. The sites are close together but done well with a landscaping effort. The bathroom was clean and never too busy. Showers aren’t too far but not in the campground.

Perfect location! Within walking distance of Springdale and right outside the visitor center and shuttle loading area. Campsites were a good size, not too close to each other, and did have some shade. However, this campground was particularly loud. This could be just bigger groups of people camping at one time or maybe people who don't know camping etiquette, but quiet hours were not enforced. Would stay again though.

Very good, clean and cozy campground. My only complain is that the campground registration office opens late and closes early. I've been doing long dayhikes in Zion, which means leaving early and coming late, so I was not able to check in for a few days.
