Impossible to secure a spot with electricity. I tried 6 months in advance. Everyday, I tried as spots opened up. Never able. I finally gave up and rented dry camp spot. With no electric, it was hot, no shade, dry, dusty. Many trees are dead or dying. Some are trying to come back. There are many trees at Zion that are green and flourishing. I don't understand why the campground trees are brown and dying. The restrooms had water and a sink. No showers. All of that said... the park was amazing. Signage was not clear and wasted a lot of time looking for trails that were closed. No easy information. Other visitors were the best source. I do love the new transportation system. Good job!. All National Parks should convert.

Second visit to Watchman campground in Zion National Park. Excellent location, walking distance to park shuttles, brewery pub & visitor center. Easy launch to Watchman hike or Pa Rus trail. Recommend bringing a bicycle to explore the park. Picnic tables, fire pits & well appointed bathrooms. Keep it up Zion!

We didn't find the park to be overly busy on the days we visited. We had good instructions to find and use the campsite. Everything was very clean and orderly especially the camp area and bathrooms. For our night in a tent, we found the park to be pretty loud in general from crying children, people moving about, including people leaving the camp very early in the morning (5am). For $20/night, it was a very good deal and put us in great position for hiking the next day to Angel's Landing and exploring the Narrows. There were lines for the buses, but we waited no longer than 10 minutes to board. It was crowded on the bus, but we talked with other travelers which made time pass quickly and was interesting. There are so many rules in place these days we spent a lot of time learning and trying to get permits. We got a permit for Angel's Landing the first attempt, but did not get a permit to The Wave or The Subway even after two attempts. The park (and others) are probably being loved to death.

First trip to Zion for us. Campground was nice, with sites clean, level, and well spaced. Views of Watchman Mountain are gorgeous. Abundant wildlife wandering the grounds. Close to shuttles, or an easy walk (or bike ride) to Springdale for showers and ice. Watch out for novice e-bike renters. It seems only a matter of time before these mopeds mow down a kid on a path.

Great location! You are next to visitor center and can shuttle from there to everything in the park. Springdale is also a short walk or shuttle ride away as well.

I had a lovely spot. It was very clean and quiet. The bathroom was also clean. It still would be nice to have a shelf or table to put a bag on.

I had a lovely spot. It was right at the end of the camp ground with no one behind me, just nature. The camp ground was very clean and quiet. The bathroom was also clean. It still would be nice to have a shelf or table to put a bag on. I don't like to put my stuff on the floor. Also, it would be great if next to every trashcan would be a recycle bin. I saw many people throwing recycle into the trash cans because they were too lazy to walk to the camp ground entrance, where the only recycle bin is or didn't know where it is. And yet there are signs everywhere to recycle. The guy who cleaned the bathrooms did a very good job. Please thank him. I will be back here..

To be directly under the Watchman, try D020 or D021; otherwise, this provides a relatively unobstructed view and was popular with deer. Partial shade over the tent pad but very little shade over the parking spot when I was here in late April. Short walk to restrooms. Longer but still fairly short walk to the visitor center, shuttle stops, and Zion Canyon Village. Showers can be purchased in the village. Spotty cellular service.

Watchman campground is great, I have camped here four times already since 2016. The sites are well divided and spacious, the restrooms are clean, and were lucky to have quiet and friendly neighbors.

Campground Host is doing an excellent job. The squirrels are vicious and will destroy gear left out. The deer will clean up on any food items left out.

I would suggest that when you send reminder emails about the upcoming camping dates and details, you should please include details about needing to purchase shuttle tickets in advance. People staying in the campground are obviously there to enjoy the national park. I have AT&T and couldn't get good service from my campsite to order shuttle tickets. Plus they were sold out. Had I known in advance I would have purchased them before the trip. I realize this is on the Zion NP website, but I wasn't looking at that because I know the park well and have been going there for nearly 30 years. Otherwise, it was a nice trip. Thank you.
