Too many people & cars in Zion. Having a campsite at Watchman made everything work for me -- easy walk to bus and visitor center. Loved the night sky and the view from my bed in the morning (site C03).

Location is amazing, Zion is well Zion, and not much privacy in the campground, but the location couldnt be better Bathrooms very clean

The convenience of being in the park and a very short walk from the VC and the bus stops is probably worth the inconvenience of very tight camping with a variety of people. The sites very closely spaced. The restrooms are newer, which is nice, but there are very few. The squirrels have been fed human food and are very aggressive little addicts. Beware! They seem funny, but they are dangerous to you and your stuff. Don't encourage them, and don't leave anything sitting out. The campground is in a canyon, and that is like being on a lake -- sound carries. We had one group in our loop that made a lot of noise well into the night. They did not seem to notice that they were the only group making noise. Bring earplugs or a fan or both.

Its a very nice Campground, in fascinating scenery. The campspots are clean and spacious, so are the Restrooms. You can shower at Zion Outfitters which can be reached via the footbridge within minutes. Remember to take your annual Pass or the receipt of your entry which will be checken as you are re entering later on.

Good site with some shade. You can stay in your car at this site. Just some foot and vehicle traffic. Didn't use a tent so idk about the ground if there's ticks underneath or not.

It was hot when we were there, but there were lots of trees and the visitors center was cool. Also a short walk to stores and restaurants. A lovely park.

Close to shuttles bus. There's was a river about 5 minutes walk where you can take a bath like I did after long day of hiking with 105F weather during Mid June. Also shower is across the bridge $4. 6-7minute walk from this campsite. View part of canyon. Very windy around 4:00am in the morning tills 7:30am in the morning. Dry air. Over all great locations for Zion np. I will definitely stay here again.

A bit too close to each campsites. No kind of barrier to give any kind of solitude.

The CG itself was very nice and a big space too. The bath house was closed so that was a bummer but there was another (without showers) at the other end of our loop. The park itself was exceptionally crowded giving my experience a "C" rating as I'm used to backpacking in the wilderness but it is a park that should be seen at least once as a pure tourist. Just go to each stop and hike early. The shuttle service is very reliable. Many of the hikes are pretty short, as in under a few miles. Alternatively, if you can walk/hike, go to the last stop and hike back which could be up to 10 miles, that is another way to see the park.

Couldn't be happier with this trip to Zion June 20 - 24, 2023. Site C003 was in the budget loop ($20/night), right at the end near the restroom/sink/walkway to the showers. Activities included Kanarra Falls, the Subway, Angel's Landing and the Narrows....all of which were a blast. Had required permits purchased in advance, and all went smoothly. Definitely, get Watchman over South Campground, if you can.

5 star for location and natural beauty. Fairly well spaced out sites. The big concern was the lack of shade and nightly wind. The down canyon wind would start about 7pm and blow all night until 8 am or so. The ranger states it is very common. Can be hard to sleep. Pulled our tent stakes out during the night

Beautiful views but camp host not present and other campers were awful. No one could follow the rules (no campfires, don’t leave trash outside, don’t feed the animals) and no one was there to enforce the rules. A ruined experience in a beautiful park. Don’t be THOSE people!

Great experience staying at Watchman campground! We spent 4 nights at site C3 in June 2021. The fact that this campground is within easy walking distance to the town of Springdale which is a charming little village with restaurants, shops, grocery stores, E bike rentals, hiking gear/outfitters, shower facilities, etc. as well as our favorite spot after a long day on the trails, the Zion Brew Pub is just steps beyond the foot bridge leading to the shuttle pick-up station and Waterman campground. We did have a couple nights of fairly strong winds and a moratorium on campfires was in place throughout our stay due to dry conditions. All in all, we had no regrets and highly recommend visiting Zion and the Watchman campground, well worth the 7 hour drive!

My husband and I loved our stay at the Watchman Campground! It's location is extremely convenient; you are located just inside the park close to the entrance so you can pop into town for food or groceries. The campgrounds themselves also have flushable toilets, potable water, and a dish washing station. There's really nothing more you could ask for! Except showers, I suppose, but the grounds themselves are so beautiful, you hardly miss it. :) Be sure to grab a site with a tree! The sun can be relentless.

Watchman's is a great campground, Site # and neighbors make all the difference though. We stayed at three different sites and although things could have been better it was a great experience. Main advantage is you're close to the action, easy to get up early and avoid the crowds since you're in the front gate. Bathrooms are decent but for some reason 1 day they decided to clean them during the morning rush. There's no hot water or garbage cans in the bathrooms but you should know that going in. The walk-in tent sites are good and relatively close to the parking, but the ground is so hard stakes are useless, bring extra rope, if you need to tie down. There's only 1 shared fire-pit in the walk-in area (FAIK), it didn't bother us but could be an issue. Drive up site are a decent size and you can typically park two cars but 1 is easier, you also get your own fire-pit. We liked them better but often there isn't a lot of choice.

We enjoyed our 6 nights @ the Watchman campground. The site is conveniently located for easy access to the Zion visitor center, shuttle & downtown Springdale (all an easy walk away) and the Watchman trailhead is adjacent to the campground. The bathrooms are very clean and well stocked, despite high usage. Although the campsite was full for our entire stay, it was quiet at night and early in the morning---great for sleeping! The only inconvenience was we had to move 4 times during our stay---reservations are hard to come by so book early.

Campsites too close. Hikes are ok, if you can get to them. Shuttle bus system is bad. I was there a week and never got a ticket for the shuttle. People staying on the campgrounds should be given 1st priority. Not the day trippers that might come to the park. Great scenery.
