Great location. Quieter than Mathers as it's a lot smaller and that's why I loved it. Nice lil walk at the end of the campsite. Lovely host.

Excellent in reservation, checking in and out procedures. Campground was very clean. Only negative is how you get s reservation for spring, sunmer, or fall. Virtually impossible.

Its a beautiful location with nice, spacious sites and beautiful scenery in every direction. Once youre in the park, you really dont want to leave because of the crowds entering the park throughout the day, so make sure you have everything you need before you arrive. That said, the shuttle into Springdale is right near the pedestrian entrance to the park and thats right next to the campground. The parks visitor center and shuttle is also very convenient to the campground. The dump station was a horrible mess, but that happens, especially when you have lots of inexperienced campers in rental units using the thing. Nevertheless, camping at Watchman is a pleasure that Id highly recommend if visiting Zion.

There is a lack of maintenance to the Campground. They have allowed weeds to take over the camp sites and all around the area. Foxtails and dead tumbleweeds (fire hazard). The restrooms were never cleaned in the 8 days we stayed there in site B02. We have camped at Watchmans for 10 years. It appears that the funds coming into ZION NP are adequate to keep the place tidy and restrooms clean, I was disappointed in the maintenance, but the area is so beautiful.

We loved our stay at watchman. We did have one issue, we booked for 2 nights and arrived late on the first night due to traffic and roadworks. It was dark when we arrived and none of the booths were manned but some instructions were on the window which was fine. The problem we had was that some one had parked a car and set up a tent in our site and refused to move, in fact they became quite aggressive and threatening. After a while we realised that some other sites were empty so we used one of those and moved the next day once the unwelcome camper had left.

Zion is one of the most beautiful national parks in the country! January, although cold, is a great time to visit the park because there are less crowds. It was nice to be able to drive through the canyon. Angels Landing was awesome! No crowds there! And the River walk is always nice

The campground was nice, but had no water, sewer, or shower facilities. Of course the views and park make up for some of that.

Nice campground right at the foot of Zion. You can walk to the visitor center and catch the bus going up the canyon. There is no water at each site but there is electricity which is great for running the AC.

Site is perfect. Close to restrooms but no neighbors behind or to the right. We camped in late December and only every other campsite was occupied. The views from the site are beautiful and the colors change throughout the day. The close by watchman trail is a must. Best part - its less than a 1/4 mile walk to a brewery.

The location was beautiful and centrally located. We had a campsite by the river that the kids could play around in. The lack of showers in the bath houses was disappointing. The park pushes you to two commercial outfitters with showers, one just outside the pedestrian gate and another one that was a shuttle ride away. Neither of those options were good for my family.

Watchmans is always beautiful. Even though Zion NP is very crowded, if you stay in the campground, it is nice and peaceful and you can avoid all the people. Now that they have discontinued requiring reservations for the shuttle, it is easier to ride when you want.....but the lines can be long.

Unbelievable views. This was my first time in Zion road tripping in my Sprinter Van with 2 friends and we luckily got a spot at Watchman nearly last minute via the Rex app due to someone cancelling. Having shore power was amazing and dipping in the Virgin River everyday was so good to cool off from the heat. Not many trees around the camp to hang hammocks but we had luck down by the river and it was an easy walk via the campground path into Springdale for food and drinks daily. The shuttles for The Narrows picked up about 1/4 mile away so it was super convenient to set out early and not need to do much before. All in all, Ill be returning as soon as possible and I do appreciate the affordable fees for such a mind blowing campground experience. One of, if not the best, Ive had to date!

Watchman Campground is beautiful! The sites are well-spaced so we had a nice lot and some privacy. We spent a week with our 3 school-aged children driving an RV to Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon, and Watchman was BY FAR the nicest campground we stayed in. We were right next to the amphitheater in the B loop so were able to take part in the nightly presentations by park rangers, which was a nice bonus. It is difficult to get a spot here but well worth the effort!

Helpful info: we rented bikes in Springdale (not the bike rental at the park entrance), and that turned out to be a fantastic way to explore the Canyon road (Pa'rus trail to Canyon Road all the way to Sinawava Temple). We had hoped to have a meal at the brewery right at the park entrance, but of course it was completely packed. We ended up at Whiptail Grill after returning our bikes and had a delicious, relaxing dinner there. Found out the hard way that Springdale shuttle stops running after 6pm or so (website said it ran until 10pm), so we did have to walk 1+ mile back to the campground but not a big deal.

Our campsite was B002. It was a great location right along the Virgin river. It was an easy walk into town and the visitor center. The only real down-side to the location was that there was some sort of event going on at the hotel across the river and we could hear their music and announcements.
@AbbeyF850F69CB · Camped on Aug 27, 2020 at Campsite #B2
We reserved spot B002 in Loop B for our 30ft RV. We ended up stopping at a gas station with the worlds slowest pump which caused us to have a projected arrival time to the East entrance 10 minutes after escort services ended for the day. As such, we re-routed and entered through the South entrance. This added nearly an hour of time and the first suggested route by Google was not a normal road, so just be aware of this. Although arriving quite late, check in was flawless. We just drove up, our name was posted on a list with our spot #, and we drove to our spot. As far as B002 goes, I would definitely book this spot again. The river is behind the spot, but not so close that it feels unsafe if you have small children. There is a path on one side, but not so close or busy that it feels intrusive. There is another RV spot on the left side (facing spot), but it isnt so close that it feels like you are lacking privacy/space. The fire pit and picnic table are between the two parking areas, but again, not inappropriately close. Views of the mountains are gorgeous from this spot and the stars were really beautiful at night. It was extremely quiet as well. The spot has electrical hookup, but no water or sewer. For water and sewer, you need to pull into a special area right by the exit to use these amenities. Will be back someday!
