The parking area is small and shared, be sure to check your vehicle length and hope for the best. Campsites are rather tight together. Beautiful down by the river!

Just recently stayed here for the 2nd time and excellent location. Grounds are kept nice and located close to the river. Restrooms are kept clean. Great time to stay during May.

Because the rivers were flowing so fast and high we were unable to swim and there were posted warnings against swimming were all over the park. The campsites are well-maintained and toilets were clean and stocked with toilet paper. This was impressive because it was the 4th of July weekend which had one of the highest visitor numbers in Yosemite history. Wawona has the advantage of being away from the crowds in the Valley, and is quieter. It also has the advantage of being closer to the entrance to Glacier Point Road and the high country hikes to Sentinel Dome, Taft and Dewey Points, and the amazing overlook of Half Dome at sunrise, which had opened for the first time that season the morning of our reservation.

We love Wawona. The sites are a little bigger than you find in the valley, so you can really enjoy yourself in the woods without feeling like you're on top of other campers. You do have to drive to get to the valley, but the distance isn't too long. This is the perfect campground for us!
