Beautiful, quiet location by the river. Clean bathrooms. A respite from the busyness of Yosemite Valley.

site 71 was very enjoyable! extremely convenient access to the river and a small spot of shade under trees right on the bank made for a perfect afternoon. there was no shade over the table or area for the tent though, which made it a bit less fun setting up the site. close to bathrooms which were very clean and also right next to the trash cans so a bit loud in the morning when it was getting picked up. there were a lot of large families and groups with loud dogs when i was there so generally noisy but part of the experience! overall really enjoyed my first time at wawona!

Very dismal environment--few trees, scrubby looking, river banks are not easy to walk along. Tent spaces are on gravel; have little space between--no privacy. Very disappointing experience after all they hype I'd heard about Yosemite.

Our trip to Wawona Campground was as usual amazing. Although this year was much different in regards to the extremely high waters , we still had a great time. Found a couple small swimming holes we could get cooled off in . Taking a day trip to the valley is always nice but it's recommended to get there early ( by 8 am ) to miss the crowds. Glacier Point is always a must see as well as the Yosemite History Center in Wawona. A nice stagecoach ride there with the great company of the one and only Ranger and Stagecoach driver
"Buckshot" . Going to Mariposa Groves to see the giant Redwoods is always a treat . Just getting away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and taking in that Sierra Mountain air and beautiful scenery is beyond words .

We enjoyed our stay there but it would be great if it has showers like most of the other campgrounds.

We stayed at site 71 the weekend of 8/5/22. Site is on the water and is fairly large, although no trees for shade during the day on this campsite, it was very nice. Wawona is pretty far from the Yosemite Valley area, but it is very pretty and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. Sadly, the last morning, leaving the park we saw firsthand why the speed limit is low on the main roads (something quite a few people disobeyed) when, a half mile from the entry/exit to the park, we saw a deer that seemingly had been struck by a car in the back legs repeatedly trying to stand up-and failing each time-by the side of the road. Seeing an animal suffer like that is horrible (yes, we reported it to the ranger). I hope at least one person who reads this long review takes this to heart and, no matter how tempting, drives the speed limit to avoid a preventable accident like this, a few extra seconds could have been enough time for the driver to brake or the deer to run further off the road, possibly avoiding the deer's slow, probably painful, death.

Wawona was amazing and stunning! The weather was beautiful and the campground was clean. Easy to navigate and very quiet. Hope to be visiting this campground again soon.

Stated at Wawona in September 2019. The site was huge and so was the adjoining one (70 &71) Direct access to the crystal clear river and a short walk to the bathroom and water tap. The sites are not private but the location makes up for it. Nice and close to town and the Mariposa Grove.

River side was great to be, and rangers were super friendly, kowledgable and professional!
