Wawona is interesting and a great place to acclimate for higher elevations. But, I do miss Tom Bopp and the hotel.

Nice campground. It is quite open and the sites don't have a lot of privacy.

May in Yosemite is a beautiful experience.Wawona CG is right along a fork of the Merced River which was flowing high.Plenty of shade and space between many spots for the RV.

Awesome campground with clean toilets, fire pit, grill, potable water, and picnic table. Creek Nearby. 45 min drive to Yosemite Valley, but it was good since there was 1 hour lines to get into Yosemite National Park.

Campground was very clean and absolutely beautiful. We were in site 68 and set up when a ranger came by to tell us that we needed to move forward to allow space for a potential Class A to drive in to the adjacent campsite. Later, we saw a tag that indicated that the ranger may have been wrong, but we had complied. As it turned out, tent campers with bikes showed up in that site. It caused a lot of work on our part to adjust.

Wawona is a lovely quiet campground on the south Fork of the Merced River. It's not too far from the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, the trail to hike up to Chilnualna Falls, the Pioneer Museum and the Meadow Loop Trail across from the historic old Wawona Hotel. I really appreciated the newly remodeled bathrooms. Every restroom in Yosemite Park should have low water use fixtures including toilets, faucets, sinks and soap for hand washing!

Very nice spots that create a friendly athmosphere. The fire places are a guarartee for cosy, starlit nights

Great campsite overall with a scenic river running next to it. The RV sites (we didn't stay at a tent site) were quite spacious and great for family with children. Driving distance from campsite into the valley is not as ideal (45mins - 1hr) but the drive is scenic anyway. If you are planning to visit Mariposa Grove, then the distance becomes an advantage compared to coming from campsites in the valley.
