Loved this campground and the location to Chilnualna Falls as well as the Wawona General Store just down the street. A perfect place to stay after staying in the valley as the drive out of the park is just 6 miles or so.

Amazing experience! Clean campground with plenty of elbow space and beautiful nature.

In order to get a campsite at Wanona you may need to play musical chairs and stay at a different site every night but it's so worth it. It is a drive to Yosemite Village but with all of the stops along the way it was fun. Don't forget to explore Wanona village and buy a book at the library. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful and everyone seems to respect the quiet times and keep their campsites pristine. To the camper who left us the stick to stir up our campfire thank you!! All in all when we go back to Yosemite Wanona will be our choice. BTW no mobile service which we loved and I hope it stays that way. I would choose a campground for that reason only. I was so wonderful to be device free for a change and guess what? We survived.

We loved this campground. It is a nice quiet base to come home to after visiting the valley and Glacier Point. It was wonderful falling asleep to sound of the river at night an exploring the surroundings. Having stayed in the valley before, we highly recommend this beautiful campground.

Even tho winters snow and rain has created significant challenges, we were able to be accommodated, moved sites to a very sweet one along the River, and thoroughly enjoy the park portions that were open.

BEWARE - I booked via the app only to be turned away at the gate. When booking on the app, I noticed that there were no tent sites. Which was fine for me because I was travelling in my camper van. Upon arrival I was quickly rejected at the gate because my camper did not have full toilet amenities. Shocked, I asked where this rule was detailed to which the clerk responded "It was ALL OVER the reservation site." ... Later that day I looked back to the app and struggled to find the detail regarding full service RV's. Unsurprisingly, it was not mentioned when trying to make a reservation. Only is it mentioned in an addition information tab about the campground which you need to click to open. Now... Should a responsible camper read all the information for their upcoming reservations? yes. Do 99% of people making reservations open every drop down menu to read the information when they assume it is the same as the dozens of other reservations they've made in the past? The truth of the matter is NO.

And to top it off, the worst part about my experience was that I was refused a refund for my reservation. Despite not being allowed to camp there. I'm very liberal with donating to National Parks. If someone, anyone, asked me off the street to donate $30 to Wawona, I'd likely say yes. But this scenario feels like deceit. And I'm willing to wager based off the clerks quick rejection of my arrival that I am one of many that have been duped out of their reservation wage.

Recreation.gov. Please make it blatantly obvious within the app what the reservation requirements are. Everyone else, take caution right now with Wawona reservations...
