Wawona site 40B is a shared site with the neighboring site. There was not really a good area to put up our tent - it was so sloped. The water is essentially inaccessible from this site as there is a steep slope to get down to it. We were about as far away from the bathrooms as you could be within this campground so bathroom trips either were planned by a long walk or a drive to go. We would not stay at this site again if we could help it.

Primitive sites are great. Snagged one close to the river. Neighbors had way too many campers over the stated limit so that took away some of the enjoyment. But the trees and wildflowers were beautiful. Wawona and the Mariposa grove of sequoias arent far away at all. Worth visiting. Slightly less crowded than the valley. About a 30-45 minute drive from the main part of the valley. Well managed. Bathrooms were clean and functional. Friendly staff. Wish there was a better way to enforce the campsite person limit. But overall a relaxing and enjoyable camping experience!

The only bad thing is your spot next to another.

Right by the river which was super cool, and if you like listening to white noise going to sleep, you’ll definitely love this campground!

We went just before busy season and we were there on a weekday. Our campground was still full but the park itself was no where near as crowded as usual. The campground has potable water, clean restrooms, amazing rushing river views, and a great clean and well maintained layout. I’ve been coming here for 30 years and so pleased it continues to impress. Something to note. This may be new or I might have forgotten, but the park no longer allows your camp reservation to cover the entrance fee. On top of our reservation we had to pay an additional 35$ to enter the park. Just a heads up to anyone traveling!
