Clean, quiet, and not too far from the beauty of Yosemite Valley!

This is a great campground. We stayed in Loop B and it was so nice to hear the sound of the rushing water near us! I hope to be back again some day :)

We were not able to park our small trailer on the tent area ; we had to install it beside the road; not bad but really not optimal. Our neighbors were crowded (14 people on one site). Camping rules allow 6 people maximum on the same site. Noisy but we called rangers (hot line) and they became quieter and stopped the music.Unfortunately, they allow electric generators on campground at specific time (morning, noon, evening) !!! very noisy when you camp in a tent !!! When I go in a nature campground, I do not expect to camping beside a motor. The camping administration seem not to make sure that campsite regulations are followed (electric generator allowed periods, nb max of people per site, etc)

The campsite was beautiful. The bathrooms are acceptable. The wastewater situation was confusing.

Over all peace and quiet I had a party of 6 and I felt like we were loud bc it was so quite haha Sites are beautiful theres a creek not to far from all campsites we spent a day at the creek and it was a nice view w all the trees. As far as bears and deers I didnt see any although I heard a bear was not too far from camp cite 38! I definitely will be going back!! I was beyond lucky to find such an amazing campground and to top it off its only 30 min from tunnel view well worth every penny thank you for the troop rangers Paul Beach was a nice man thank you for making this experience great!

We stayed at site 33 May 31th-June 1st, nice shady spot on a slight slope, we tent camped so each morning we woke up we noticed we slid a bit in our sleeping bags, but we really didn't mind. The site was close to bathrooms and potable water, also close enough to hear and see the river which was really soothing to fall asleep to. I would honestly recommend any site at Wawona because it truly is just so beautiful. It was about an hour (beautiful but windy mountain roads) drive into Yosemite Valley, which we didn't mind, because up until the day before all the campgrounds in the valley were closed due to flooding from snow melt in the spring, so we were happy to at least have a campsite at that point, but something to keep in mind if you don't want to drive that far to get to the valley, (sidenote: this drive will take you through the gorgeous tunnel view) We were about 5 miles from the market where we could get wood and anything else we would have needed for our stay. We also checked out the historic Wawona area and hotel for lunch before check in, which was nice, but after visiting the valley I would say go spend most, if not all, your time there. We didn't have time to check out Mariposa Grove, but would like to next time we stay. Wawona is well taken care of and bear signage is posted clearly everywhere so make sure to LOCK YOUR STUFF UP and avoid bear activity, we didn't see a single bear which made us feel safe. There are no showers available at Wawona but you can pay for them in Curry Village, which is about an hour away so after hiking in the valley we just showered there before heading back to camp. Overall we would recommend Wawona to anyone and hope to return.

Wawona is a great site. It's close to the river and the local store if you need anything. Our particular site, 35, was OK. You can hardly fit two vehicles and most of the site is sloped, so take that into consideration.
