Great sites one right on the river. They were clean and good sized. Would stay again

Very nice campground away from the crowds in the central valley, but just a 30 minute drive in. Also, very close to Mariposa Grove and a short drive to Oakhurst for supplies. There are two small general stores close, but they are pricey. The campground itself sits near the river and during our stay a group of wild turkeys roamed the property. The rangers and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were kept clean and stocked and the one nearest loop A is heated. There is a dump station just up the road near the hotel. My only complaint with Wawona is that most of the pull through sites in loop A are not level, so may take some time and moving around to get a larger rig setup. I also didn't care for the pull through sites in Loop A essentially being pull off with no separation from the road. Our trailer is small with no slides, but a couple of nights our across the street neighbors were in a Class A with multiple slides which nearly blocked the roadway and made for a tight fit.

I did not enjoy this campground at all. I read the sites were "spaced out" but what they don't say is the whole place is flat with no trees so you and the other campers are just staring at each other. I stayed in Crane Flat the night before and the sites have more privacy. Wawona is right by the road and i could barely hear the crackle of the campfire with the number of cars driving south until almost 10pm. So many cars. This was not a holiday weekend. Would not recommend this campground or stay here again.

Staff were very friendly, trash cans within reasonable distance and the campsites were very clean. Wish there was more shade, ill have to preview sites before purchasing next time.

This is a beautiful campground, but it needs a camp host. Relying on people to be quiet at 2 AM on their own just doesnt work. The spaces are spaced out, but if your neighbors decide that they want to be loud all night long, you have nothing to do but listen.

Beautiful campground, great people. 5 stars except we had trouble getting level. Still would return!

Great campground, you just need to remember that there are no showers or electricity available in the restrooms.

The staff was very helpful and informative. The sites were very sloped. Difficult to sleep lying on a sloping surface.

It was packed but everyone had ample space. Easy check-in/out! Rangers were helpful :)

Campground bathrooms were closed and there wasn't any potable water, all due to renovations taking longer than expected. You had to drive about a mile up the road to get water and dump. Not that big of a deal, but usable bathrooms would make this an even better experience (again, we knew this ahead of time so we were prepared). We were warned via email multiple times that only self-contained rigs were allowed, and if you showed up with anything else it would be canceled and you would be turned away.
First, rangers arrive at 8am and leave promptly at 5pm.
All of this is noted because at roughly 5:30pm and well into the night, everyday, camper vans and small rigs (neither have bathrooms onboard) would roll into camp and find an open spot. They'd be up and gone by 7am. This happened every single night. I have no idea how these people knew the ranger schedule, but they did.

Site 21 was tiny. We barely fit a 23 ft travel trailer in there and the truck. Absolutely no shade or trees. We were close to the campground entrance, which meant the camping squatters mentioned above used our area/loop as a proverbial merry-go-round. It is not an ideal site, or loop. Loops B and C are MUCH better. Our daughter was camped in loop C and it looked like a completely different campground. Super disappointed.
