Great campground if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Yosemite Valley. About 30 minutes from Glacier point and 40 minutes from the valley. Site 1 is pretty and by the river! Not a ton of privacy, but maybe a little better than average for this campground.

Loved our stay at Wawona! We stayed in Loop C right by the water, which provided great white noise and is so beautiful to be near. The sites are large - we had 4 adults with 2 pretty large tents and had plenty of room to spare. The rangers are so friendly and provide a lot of helpful information during check-in. The bathrooms were very clean and the market up the road was really convenient for firewood and forgotten items.

Great campground. Close to the valley and Mariposa grove.

We scored Site 1 on Loop C the night before our trip (we had been on a waitlist for months). The site was HUGE, very private, had lots of trees, easy access to the bathrooms, and the soothing white noise of the river alongside our site. The bathrooms were clean and always stocked, but no light at night so bring your headlamp! This site is considered a "walk-up," but one of the two designated parking spots was right on top of the site, making for easy loading/unloading. Site 1 (plus a few surrounding) is "tent-only"not intended for car campingbut we noticed our neighbors were sleeping in their SUV. Loop C seems to be the most wooded and quiet of the Wawona campground. The drive into the Valley was only about 45 minutes, and the little town of Wawona had a lot to offerdefinitely check out Pine Tree Market!! We highly recommend the Wawona Campground, especially if you can score something in Loop C by the river!

The weather was bad & wet rain is not good when camping in a tent. But we put up a 10X10' awning over the table & metal food locker which helped. We had hoped to go on a 2-hour mule ride but they were not operating as the river was raging.

It was so cold & uncomfortable in the tent that we left Thursday late afternoon...

Wawona Campground is easy to access and located next to the river. It is a beautiful area to camp in.
