Yosemite is always a good idea! Love camping here, happy at any site. Yes there are a few very special sites, but anywhere is Yosemite is just a few steps away from amazing views! Picnic table, fairly level area to park and camp, bathrooms nearbyVolunteer hosts at kiosk friendly and helpful. We appreciate so much all the volunteers at Yosemite! Also, Yosemite Conservancy is great to join for discounts on some Yosemite activities, including art classes. Dont miss the Ansel Adams gallery for photography classes, fabulous unique gifts and jewelry , cards and THE BEST curated assortment of books, special Yosemite/nature books, also classics and unique finds, coloring books, art supplies ,posters and of course Ansel Adams prints.Campground Bathrooms have only cold water, no soap, paper towel or trash can . (Bears attracted to scents) There is a tiny shelf and hooks near each sink. I bring disinfectant wipes to wipe out sink, my own trash bag, hanging toiletry kit to hang from hooks, hand soap. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Most campers seem courteous and try to clean up after themselves.Area to refill water bottles or get dish pan water at bathrooms, also area to dump some dish water.Bear proof large metal cabinets are at every site. Absolutely essential to put toiletries, scented products, any food, soda etc out of vehicles and into locker. Ravens will also try to steal your food. Lots of ground squirrels everywhere-for some reason saw many people feeding them to try to get videos. I had a ground squirrel bite my finger (barely) when I was sitting on ground opening a plastic wrapped set of pencils! Maybe thought it was food? In many decades of going to Yosemite, Ive never seen so many ground squirrels but I guess life is (too) easy for them with hand outs. A man recently got The Plague from a ground squirrel flea in Lake Tahoe, so I used a natural bug repellent as a precaution .Recommend Mirror Lake for a fairly easy hike. Bring bikes or rent them.

We had an okay spot. Very level, that was nice , neighbors a bit close anlthough not a problem but one with a generator until 9pm and again in the morning. Other than that a fantastic location.

This is a great campground that's close to many popular trails. The site was clean and well maintained. I think the sites closer to creek side get a bit colder compared to the ones further "inland". The only issue I had were the bathrooms were a hit or miss for me. One had several stalls that were clogged or with no door latch. If I went to the 2nd closest one it was great and well maintained. Overall this is a good campsite though.

Great location. Helpful gate officers. Quiet. Would go again with no hesitation. Unfortunately, even if the campground was displaying FULL, many sites were vacant. Something needs to be done to correct this situation.

Reservations for campground space in Yosemite Valley are for specific, numbered spots in the individual campgrounds. As a consequence, when a specific space is unavailable, one loses critical time selecting an alternate spot. The valley campgrounds typically are sold out less than 5 minutes after a new month becomes available. It would be much more efficient if the reservation could be for a generic tent space, or a generic RV space up to 18 ft; 24 ft; 35 ft, etc.

Was it for this my life I sought? Maybe so maybe not

Bathrooms were VERY gross which was weird because the ones on the opposite side of our loop (closer to the paved road/entrance) were always spotless. Overall we had a great experience. We saw a bear close to our site stalking a deer during the early evening but it had a tracker on it so we weren’t too worried.

Beautiful and relatively quiet campground. Great for the kids and close to Curry Village and Happy Isles trailhead.

The bathrooms were filthy, cleaned once in the three days we were there. The valley was overrun with cars since limited day use was starting soon but not yet. So much for social distance! We came last summer when cars were limited and it was like heaven. Now it's worse than ever. The park should limit how many people are let in all of the time. Also, there should be a bypass lane at the check in hut. You shouldn't have to wait while others check in to access your campsite. If you need ice, you risk waiting for 20 minutes to get through.

Yosemite was beautiful. I just felt a bit crowded in the campground. For covid the campground had less campsites open but they didn't spread the campers out much. I wish they gad left more ooen sites between. Oh, well it still was nice and beautiful.

The upside to Covid is that only one campground is open and at lower capacity, which made for a splendid Spring Break trip for our family. Falls and rivers are just getting going good. The Vernal-Nevada Falls hike is a classic, beautiful, and accessible to anyone that starts early and takes their time. A new one for us was the abbreviated Upper Yosemite Falls trek to Columbia Rock. What a view of the Valley and surrounds! We did miss the shuttles to cut hiking time to trailheads and the Village, but the weather was magnificent at 68 degrees and made for beautiful days. It felt like 75. Nights dipped into the 40's, which made campfires that much more enjoyable.
