The location is great, the campgrounds are old and in need of repair. Bathroom cleanliness is questionable. They could put some showers in.

I have been traveling to the valley for 40+ years. I have never worried about about grocery lists as the valley markets were always with 5-10% of what I was paying at my home markets. That was, until this trip, the norm. I was shocked to see the price gouging happening at the village store and Curry Village. Prices were 2-3 times what the same item currently costs me at home. Two trips to the stores for basic items over a four day stay cost upwards of $200. I have not been too impressed with Aramark since their takeover of DNC's contract, but this might be the most egregious of their changes. Shame on the National Park Service for allowing this to happen.

Upper Pines is one of the best camp sites ! It's one of the sites that is close to pretty much everything. My family and I have been coming here for years. We have never stayed at this specific spot but needed the space since my husband and I purchased a toy hauler trailer last year and wanted to bring it to Yosemite for the first time. I was a little worried about the space since we drive a truck(F150) and my parents drive a F250 about fitting in the space. We were able to fit our toy hauler(24ft) and both trucks in the space on the pavement. I know many people have complained regarding generators being loud and running all the time. Generator times are set for 7:00am-9:00am, 12:00pm-2:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm. We didn't always need to put on our generator since we wanted to be considerate of other people around. We did notice some campers did bring generators that were open framed which made it even louder. The generator we did bring with us was a closed frame which did make it much more quiet plus we had a solar panels that helped us not having to use the generator. We enjoyed this spot and will definitely be getting this spot again.

What an incredible trip. Our camp hosts were also the best! We couldnt have had a better time. The snow was so lovely. We got to explore a few trails. Mirror lake and lower vernal bridge. The crampons we brought were a must. Loved it. Thank you.

Everything was great, the camp hosts were kind and helpful, the bathrooms were relatively clean. This spot was spacious and longer than some of the other spots.

What an outstanding trip. This was my first time staying in Upper pines and it was probably my best stay. It is nestled in the heart of the valley, central to countless major attractions. We were walking distance to the village store, which made it convenient if we needed to get anything. The first day we walked to mirror lake which offered a wonderful view Half Dome from the valley. That night we walked out to a wooden walking path to star gaze, and it was spectacular. I brought my camera and tripod and was able to get some incredible images of the stars with the silhouette of half dome in the foreground. The second day we hiked up the mist trail to nevada falls. Once again, the convenience of this site is that we did not need to drive. The trailhead is about a mile from the campground, we just walked directly from it. May is definitely waterfall season in Yosemite. We saw the fullest version of Vernal and Nevada falls that we have ever seen. The last day we got lunch at the Ahwahnee hotel, then hung out by the water in the Housekeeping area. One thing we really wished we would have done is river rafting. The gentle flow of the valley river is perfect for lounging in a raft and taking in the vast sights. Looking forward to being back soon.

nice campground. wish it wasnt a symphony of generators three times a day. come on people what do you have that you need to run your generators that many times. leave the instapot, rice cooker, air fryer, convection oven and microwave home. enjoy a campfire cooked meal and listen to the sound of nature instead of your generators.

Amazing experience! Loved every minute of it. Just minutes from the John Muir Trail, Mist Trail and many others! Also right around the corner from the bike path.

The campgrounds were too close together and people next to us had their lights on for a while which spoiled the sky view. Someone had puked in the bathroom sink which made the bathrooms unusable.

Showers were closed due to Covid and campfires were not allowed due to the nearby fires. The Merced River was more like a creek. Despite all this, we had a decent time hiking with few people on the trails.

Finally scored a campsite in Yosemite Valley. It was a perfect experience, very clean campground and we were warned heavily of bears in the area upon arriving. The Bear lockers are huge, so we were able to stash all scented items and food in there, but someone still saw a bear! It didn't bother us, but be on the lookout!

Upper Pines was a perfect way to end our stay in Yosemite. The Campground was incredibly scenic and offered amenities that we needed, like a clean bathroom and water access. We were backpacking, so it was also very nice to enjoy a warm campfire during a chilly evening and be able to relax. I'd go again tomorrow if I could get a reservation!
