028 was an amazing site. Wide and tucked on a loop. Great access to the local trails and the shuttle loop.

The campsite was great, loved the campground. Bathroom needed attention and soap.

This campsite was AMAZING! Great views within the trees, super close to all the hikes, and amazingly friendly staff! It was my first time in Yosemite and the Rangers at the check in office were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back!

We stayed at Upper Pines because of its location - we were going to hike (climb?) the Half Dome, and needed to get to the trailhead early. The location is perfect, not to mention that there are few campgrounds open this year.
The place was less crowded than I remembered from a previous trip 15 years ago. The restroom was clean enough (the showers were closed). In the evening it was a bit loud to my taste; I think most people were not serous hikers and did not get up early, so they felt no obligation to behave quietly after 10pm. Even worse unpleasant surprise was people walking to the restrooms through our camp site, not even pretending to stay away from the tent. I have never seen this at any other campgrounds; normally, people respect others' privacy.

New traffic ideas are only partially effective. Signage is ineffective. Most day visitors got lost in the campgrounds and couldn’t easily turn around. Busses were not running so that increases traffic. The street in front of the lower pines meadow which eliminated needed parking and more importantly eliminated the one easy turn around for the majority of cars that need to turn around since Curry parking fills first. Also making anyone who goes to the Lodge to have to drive all the way to El Capitan just to get to the market is terrible.
