The campsite is incrediblenear the corner, it's very quiet with minimal noise from the road. There's also a path that connects to the Mist Trail, but be cautious when crossing the small streams along the way.

Camping ontop of each other. No privacy, park employees extremely rude, never met camp host. The place is an absolute zoo. Worst park and campground I've been to.

You cant beat Yosemite! If you can get ANY campsite there its so worth it!

We loved our 4 day camping trip at Upper Pines. If you go, we highly recommend taking bikes as that is the best way to get around to things in most of the valley. You can walk to the Mist Trail trailhead and to Mirror Lake, but plan on some extra time versus biking to the trailheads. The views within the campground are limited to some rock canyon walls and lots of trees, but it is beautiful and just a few minute walk to the Merced River and a great view of Half Dome. Walk another few minutes to get views of Yosemite Falls. You can't go wrong with any spot in Upper Pines!

Spots are close together, but it's hard to beat camping right in the Yosemite Valley; from almost any campsite, you can look up to see towering granite rockfaces above you, including Half-Dome. Flush toilets in the bathrooms, water fill stations outside of it. Curry Village (general store, restaurant, bar, facilities) is a short walk away, with paved trails for bicycles along the way. My single complaint is that there is limited access from the campground to the surrounding activity sites (Happy Isles and Mist Trail Trailhead to the south, Mirror Lake Trailhead to the north), without cutting through somebody's campsite and trampling through the woods a bit. The legitimate route is to return to the entrance, and then walk around or take the shuttle, which adds some time and distance.Though I will mention that I highly support the shuttle system. It can get crowded at certain stops and run times and not always consistent, but a great option for reducing traffic, congestion, etc. Great campground overall.

OK site, small and crowded as expected. Full sun in afternoon. Lots of crows and squirrels. Keep bear box closed at all times and paper towels/toilet paper secured as squirrels will steal to use in their nests. If your away from the bear box it should be closed.I wouldn't plan on spending any time in this site during the day it's too sunny and no views. Good place to sleep and bonfire that's about it. Bring earplugs for proximity to other sites and screaming children amd dogs.

Upper Pines never fails to be the perfect base camp for an epic adventure!

Our particular campsite was just too close to our neighbors. There are some sites at this facility that offer more privacy, but the "inside the loop" sites tend to be way too congested.
