Excellent park, great facilities. Lots of people breaking rules with dogs - off leash, in water. Lots of folks in roped off areas. Would be great to see more enforcement.

Really enjoyed the generous space, granite views through towering pines and distance to restroom.

Really amazing location in Yosemite Valley, camped beneath/between Sentinel Dome and Half Dome. Wake up to towering granite cliffs just visible through the pines - beautiful!! We came in October without a lot of planning and had to change campsites every night, so we got to see a variety of different sites. If you are camped near a bathroom, be prepared to have people walking through your site ALL THE TIME. Some people even walked right next to our tent, without batting an eye or acting the slightest bit sheepish. The best sites are on the outside of loops farther away from the bathrooms. October was a fantastic time to visit. The maples along the Merced River were changing color, the days were warm, the evenings were cool but not frigid until our last night. The crowds were manageable. The waterfalls were mostly dried up (as to be expected in this ongoing drought). We generally like to avoid crowds, but I have to say that this location is worth the hassle of all the people. It is incredibly beautiful and not like anywhere else. People should see it and realize the importance of protecting the earth. It took a minute to figure out how to do dishes. There aren't grates and spigots available throughout the campground as there are in the typical campground, due to wildlife (mostly bear) concerns. There is a potable water dispenser along with a wastewater disposal area (aka giant toilet for kitchen water) on one side of the bathrooms. We were camped on the other side and didn't see it. Thanks to other friendly campers at the campground, we figured out how to deal with our dishes and wash water.

We spent six nights at Upper Pines campground in mid-April. What a wonderful opportunity to be in the middle of such natural beauty! We were there with children and grandchildren and had deer, birds and even a bear visit. The campsites were very clean as well as the bathrooms. Please note that the campsites have no running water, electricity or sewage hookups. There is a dumping station at the entrance to the campground where self-contained RV's and trailers can fill fresh water tanks and flush out their grey and black water tanks. The bathrooms do have flushing toilets and sinks with cold water but no showers. Showers are usually available at Camp Curry for a small fee. Due to COVID restrictions, the showers are currently closed. Instead, we made do with disposable "body wipes" that worked well enough. There are no electrical outlets available for charging phones. Most people charge phones from their car, solar cells, or portable generators. Please note that there is no WiFi available in the campground but you can connect to WiFi at Yosemite Village. It actually is a time to disconnect from the everyday tech and take in the natural beauty that makes this place so spectacular.
