I LOVE this campground. Dark, wooded, quiet and beautiful views. generous sites. Ive had 4 camping spots there and never had one I didn't love. Big clean bathrooms. All of the park staff and rangers were so incredibly kind and friendly.

Nice layout, good policies...quiet, decent spacing, food management. Terrible bathrooms tho...2 facilities stayed dark during our 48 hour stay and the toilets appeared to be overflowing (in the dark)

Sites were nice and level and great location within the park. Would definitely stay here again!

Great campsite in the heart of Yosemite Valley and you're surrounded by beautiful monoliths and mountains on all sides. Conveniently near Mist Trail and Mirror Lake hikes, but also can walk/scooter/bike to Curry villiage. Campsite was clean and appropriately sized for a large tent (12x8 ft), which we used, or a couple smaller or medium sized tents. Parking space is tight for two standard vehicles. Bathrooms were close and clean but spartan (no soap, no papertowels, and TP was unbelievably thin). Fires were restricted to 5-10pm, which was irritating because it made for cold mornings and we used a significant amount of propane to make breakfast. Trees provide some shade, but also limit star gazing. Overall, a great campsite for the location and proximity to the main trails.

As always Yosemite was beautiful. Our site was located close to hikes and the village. The sites in the area were a bit closer together than some weve stayed so if I had a choice Id choose across the way on the edge to get some privacy. Otherwise had fun walking over to Mirror Lake, and Nevada Falls bridge. It was too hot for us to go on any real hikes.

Conveniently located, beautiful campground. In the evening because campfires were allowed (shocking since it is a tinderbox/mid-drought/active fires could be seen on hikes near Tioga Pass), it became increasingly hard to breathe overnight as smoke settled in the valley, and it ended up being a fairly unpleasant camping experience from ~9pm onward. If not for the smoke, it would have been incredible. Please stop allowing fires. It's not only unnecessary, it's unsettling to smell smoke in a place that would see catastrophic effects of an out-of-control fire. A bonus would be giving people with airway or breathing issues an easier time!

The location of the valley campgrounds is unbeatable. But the Upper Pines sites are packed together pretty closely.

Rather cramped campsites, yet still room for more than one tent. Trees provide shade. Good location, close to Mist Trail, Mirror Lake, Curry Village. With either bikes or nearby shuttle stop you have access to the whole valley.

Good car camping site and great location for most of the major must-sees in Yosemite.

We visited Yosemite National Park in August 2019 and had a truly wonderful time. from the moment we entered the park we were blown away by the fabulous scenery and were very excited to find where we would be camping. no trouble finding the campsite where we pitched our RV among the pines. although August is high season, there was no feeling of being crowded and we were happy with our site near the river, the campfire, not too far from the wash and toilet block (but not too close either !) Lots of squirrels posing for my grandson to photograph, sadly no bears but perfectly situated for hiking and a short walk to a very good cafe, a frequent shuttle bus to the visitor centre and altogether the perfect place. the only problem in encountered was in the reserving of a campsite. i was told that it was essential to be at the computer the moment the booking opened 5 months before or we would miss out. i needed to secure two sites as we were travelling with my son and his family in the second camper van. unfortunately i tried to book two sites next to each other at the same time and by the time i realised this was not a good idea, all the sites had gone and my son had to take a campsite outside the park. he came in every day on the bus so we could hike together and spend the days together but it was not ideal. i know this park is incredibly popular during the school holidays but the website needs to have some way of updating as the bookings fill so you dont have to go back to the beginning when you are told the ones you are after have gone. i would recommend it once you get there.
