Great view of half dome, right by the river and close to everything in the valley!

We stood at site 168 and it was very close to the restroom. There isnt much shade but luckily we took the easy up. Its a Great site and pretty spacious. Its also close to the bus shuttle, mist falls trails and not a far walk to the river.

Great spot! Not a lot of flat space for tents, bring smaller tents. Close to bathrooms, which were clean and attended to. Central to all valley locations. A couple spots for hammocks. We had a great time would recommend this spot!! Agree with the other reviews that mention bringing eye covering, as people did walk by at night with flashlights. All park staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks!

Love staying at upper pines but this site was a bit tight. Although conveniently next tot he restrooms, unfortunately this restroom was not well kept like the others and the campsite itself is a bit awkward. Not very shady and if it rains be aware as theres a valley in spot where your text would ideally go, which means water will run through your tent.

The setting is nice, but it's a really crowded campground. Everything is clustered so close together. We hesitated to light a fire in our fire ring because that was about 6 feet from our neighbor's tent. On the plus side, the Mist Trail trailhead is within walking distance. Also, the rangers were super nice, upbeat, helpful, despite the crowds.I guess this is just the state of Yosemite in modern times--SO MANY PEOPLE! If it weren't such a lovely place, I'd never come back.

We had a great visit. The only issue that kept me from giving 5 stars was that the site was not level and off camber. Dump station was very nice!

The overall experience was great! The site was larger than I expected! The price for the site was excellent too! When we arrived a Park Ranger, without asking, was even kind enough to give my son and I a quick lesson on food storage to prevent bears from coming into the campsite. The campground was within walking distance to Curry Village where we were able to walk to do some shopping. Overall a wonderful trip! Thanks Yosemite!

Was already checked in and had a car full of people and ice bags melting in the floor board while the volunteer at the check in booth was fielding questions from 20 or so people that walked up. We slowly drove through the other side and got yelled at by the man with the mustache and he insisted that we turn around in the middle of the road and go to the back of the line that had now doubled in length because it was a safety concern. We proceeded to dodge pedestrians as we turned around in the middle of the road got back in the back of the line only to see the volunteer ranger do the exact same thing we had done. If they are going to field questions at the check in booth from people that walk up make them form a line out of the road to avoid major congestion there. We waited in the line a total of 30 minutes just to simply get to our camp site!!!!!

Upper pines is a perfect spot to explore all that the valley has to offer. The park was only at partial capacity due to Covid which helped keep down the crowds. Can’t wait to return.

Heaven on earth! Even though we camped at peak season, we were able to float down the Merced River with our tubes, (Buy return ticket for $5) , Took a bus ride tour to Glacier Point, had breakfast at the Awanhee Hotel, and enjoy some beautiful hikes.

Campsite is in close proximity to all of the sights and amenities. The one draw back would be that the sites do not offer much in the way of privacy.
