It was difficult to figure out where the walking and bikes trails are and where they go. Better signage would help. The women's bathroom near our site did not have working lights the two nights that we were there. The campsites are very close to each other as well. Otherwise, we were grateful for the camping spot and the organization of it.

The campground has a nice view of all the cliffs surrounding the valley, but it is extremely packed with very little separation between the sites. It does not have enough restrooms given the amount of sites, and the restrooms were not well maintained. Also, we stayed for a few nights and had to change sites in the middle of our stay. The check-in hours of the campground are 10am-4pm and the ranger at the check-in could not check us in for both sites at the time of our arrival, forcing us to waste valuable time on the day of the transfer in order to be able to check in for the second site. This is one of the only campgrounds available in the Yosemite valley, so it's kind of the only option for low cost accommodation with less than 30m drive to all of the main attractions in the valley, and because of that I would still stay here, but it was one of my least favorite NPS-operated campgrounds.

Uncomfortably crowded tent sites and gross bathrooms. Would have been okay in an RV with more privacy and your own bathroom.

Yosemite is our family’s happy place. Camping on the valley floor is so convenient, one never needs to get in their car once camp is set up.

This campground is in the center of it all. You can walk to at least two classic Yosemite hikes from the campground - Mirror Lake and Mist Trail/Nevada Falls. You can also catch the free shuttle to go around Yosemite Valley (make sure to check if all shuttles are running - we were there in mid-May and they were still on winter schedule which was very limited). You can get good showers, pizza, and beer at Curry Village which is a short walk. Amazing view of the Merced River with dramatic granite cliffs from the dump station (of all places)! Consider bringing bikes if you can fit them in - there are lots of paths for biking and it's easier/faster than driving short distances between campground and Yosemite Village, for example. Campground itself was very quiet despite having lots of people including a school group of middle schoolers right beside us. Bathrooms numerous and acceptable, each with potable water for bottles. Potable water for camper at dump station. Enjoy!!

There are many small rocks on the ground and on a slight slope. We set up tent in a farther common area. It has lots of shade. Overall great experience.

Went with the family in the fall, and it was amazing and no too crowded. Beautiful and doable family hikes right next to the campground. Well... It IS in the middle of some the most beautiful nature on Earth.
