Very good overall experience. The folks working the welcome booth were super sweet and welcoming. Campsite goes VERY deep. Could honestly fit a lot of people and several tents. Very close walking proximity to Curry Village and world class hikes. I absolutely loved my experience here and felt like I was in the heart of all the action. Like literally there is no better place to camp I'm convinced! Cons: bathroom is right there and the lights don't go out (unless you were to say.. find a switch on the ceiling), also a LOT of people walk through the campsite on their way to the bathroom. BTW, cleanest bathrooms camping I've ever experienced. Plenty of other reviewers complained it was loud but honestly, it became ridiculously quiet after like 9 PM. Admittedly, we were the loud ones (group of mid 20s) and we were unfortunately placed next to a fricken day care-type neighbor with 7 kids (I counted lol). They repaid the favor with crying and shrieking at 7 am that lasted an hour and made its way through my ear plugs haha fair enough. Anyway.. would deffo recommend this campground and if you can, get a different campsite but this one works just fine.

5 stars is for upper pines campground as a whole, but this site was probably the worst weve ever had due to other campers. As you can see in the photo youre right next to the bathroom, so campers will walk through your camp day and night. If something like that doesnt bother you, then youll be fine. Since we have kids, strangers walking right up to where they were they were sitting or playing was quite a nuisance. The site itself has a beautiful view, very spacious, lots of shade if youre tent camping.

a little too close to the bathrooms, the bathroom lights were on all night so we didnt have complete darkness thru the tent and thru the car camping set up

Great location. Neighbors, large groups & teens do not respect quiet hours, especially the weekends. The park does not enforce quiet hours. You have to ask people to be quiet. Neighbors walk right through the middle of your campground site continuously. No respect for others.

I camp at Upper Pine Campground site 135. I had lot of shade and site was clean and well managed. Cell signal was very weak. Bathroom was very close, I think it was too close.

We had an excellent time! Upper Pines never disappoints. The restrooms were very clean and the Park Rangers were vigilant for scented items (food/toiletries/etc) that could attract bears. We can't wait to return!
