I love this campground. Gorgeous location. Sites are awesome. Rangers are super nice. Clean well stocked bathrooms.

Restrooms were run down and dirty, campground was not patrolled and no sign of a Ranger or any official to be found other than someone at the check in shack... Embarrassing for a Federal park

I had a great time staying at Upper Pines! It was quiet and the wildlife was incredible. I had an Acorn Woodpecker 2 feet away from my back doors, took a walk and a deer was grazing near the pump out right next to the Merced River. The park was amazing and what a base camp to come back to.

Very quiet and peaceful right under glacier point and half dome nearby too. Great place to camp away from the busy trails and roads in the park.

Upper pines is a peaceful campground. The campground hosts round out this wonderful site with their caring, helpful and kind ways. We have had many wonderful experiences with Mary and her husband. My husband is 76 years of age. When we were at the campground it snowed and there was ice at the DP site outside our door. Mary's husband (I can not remember his name at this time) came over and saw Patrick trying to chop the ice away. He took over . We are eternally grateful to him for doing this. Patrick has started having chest pain while walking on a trail across the meadow. We did not know at the time this was a cardiac related issue.. One month later he ended up getting a stent in his Left Anterior Descending artery. I believe that your campground host Dave??? saved Patrick's life that day by assisting him with the ice chopping. We look forward to camping when Mary and Dave??? are hosting. They are very special people. We will never forget their kindness when we camp at Upper Pines!!!!!
