There is a tradition of people yelling out the name "Elmer" at dusk/night. Super annoying and camp hosts don't care as it is a "tradition". Super lame. How about a tradition of gathering to sing evening songs around a campfire or something nice and not so loud and obnoxious. Won't stay here again.

Bathrooms did not have hand soap. One bathroom had human feces on the floor and was not cleaned the duration of our stay. Campground is in a great location, but it is very noisy and cramped due to the high number of campers packed into a small area. This isnt a campground to go relax and enjoy peace and quiet, its a jumping off point for other activities in the park. It is also not a campground to hang out around the campfire since there is a 10pm curfew. Keep in mind that there is no cell signal, no WiFi, and no showers. Curry Village WiFi is for guests only. I specifically asked if I could use the WiFi as a non-guest to book an overnight wilderness permit and they told me guests only and to go to Yosemite Village (a mile down the road).

Campsites had a sense of privacy. Tree canopy delivered welcome shade on a very warm day but allowed us a first-light view of half dome. Great hike nearby and we rode every inch of the park's paved trails. We brought road bikes but gravel bikes would also be fine. A++!

It's very unlikely we can repeat the circumstances of our experience, since so many campsites were empty due to less than ideal forecasts. But thankfully the skies were kind to us and we had so much space and such a wonderful time. Campground has all the things you'd expect, the bathroom closest to me was clean and easy to get to, the bear boxes had plenty of room for storing all our items safely, and the site was ideal for our two tent group. One thing our group didn't plan as well for as we could have was dishwashing - because it's bear country there isn't centralized dishwashing locations, so we had to improvise with the items we had to do this properly. Just a good thing to keep in mind and we certainly won't forget for future visits.

This was my third visit to Yosemite, but my first time camping in the valley, and being able to stay in the park through the night was a dream. While we're glad the rain stayed mostly away, I hope our next visit has clearer skies so we can keep chasing those elusive moonbows.
