Site 119 is on the outer side of a loop, close to the bathrooms, but far enough that you don't hear toilets flushing. it is probably one of the sunniest spots without much tree shade cover so be sure to pack a shade structure. Curry Village is about a 10 minute walk which is nice. Shuttle stop is close by.

Upper pines was a great campsite! The rangers were really helpful and informative. The location is perfect for exploring the valley and an easy drive to glacier point, mariposa, etc.

Wonderful spot. Theres a tent spot right. Y the running creek. Although there is minimal shade midday, the running creek is right there for you. Loved it.

Our camp spot (119) didnt have any shade so it was pretty warm but thankful to have a spot close to the trailhead. The gentleman at registration was super nice and very helpful.

We had a great time at Yosemite! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our tour guide, Julia, for the Glacier point tour on 9/26/24 at 1:30 pm, was fantasticvery knowledgeable. A special thanks to her and the tour driver, Juana. Must-see destination. The only downside was not having at least two nights at the same campsite.Overall, awesome job! Keep it up.

This is a decent but very crowded campground. Very few sites have any real privacy, with sites often spilling on top of each other. Bear lockers that appear to be on other people's sites but are actually yours. Often no path to the restroom that doesn't involve walking through at least one other person's site. So don't come expecting an idllyic scene, these are functional sites that give you the great advantage of staying right in the heart of Yosemite Valley. This particularly campground is essentialy at the base of Half Dome, and the extra bonus is you're EASY walking distance to the Mist / Muir Trail(s). These are very popular and other folks park as much as half a mile away from the trailhead, but you just have to negotiate some fallen trees (put there on purpose to deter...something....people from sneaking out of campground or sneaking in?).We had a nice time here and with very careful use of battery, spent three nights in midl/late May. In case it isn't clear to you, there is no water, no electric and the sewer is a nearby dump station. There are lots of bathrooms with flush toilets and cold running water, but understand that A LOT of people use these and they can become quite terrifying!!

This reservation period was in May 2023, during the melt of a historic snow pack and threatened flooding of the valley. We were allowed to camp with the understanding that we could count on 2 days and that every day, our stay would depend on the monitoring and water levels of the Merced River that runs through the valley. So the valley had a very small population of campers, and our enjoyment of the park (we know it well) was amplified by the pure joy of having most of our trails little used, very quite nites, no traffic jams. This was the BEST spring trip to Yosemite valley I have every had! The rangers and staff were excellent, the care of tey bathrooms was fabulous, the hosts were relaxed, becuase there were so few of us camping there. I think we were really lucky to be there at that time. BUT, if you ever get a chance to camp in the valley for at least two nights, you should do it. This is an amazing park. That said, many of the facilities are run down, and there was the highest level of micro-trash in the campsites I have ever seen. I know that staff is very over worked, but I do not know why the fire rings were filled with ashes and trash was every where. I spend at least 4 hours of this trip using a grabber to pick up trash in the campsites, filling 2 15 gallon kitchen trash bags.

We have been coming to Yosemite at the end of October for over 30 years to camp (North Pines), hike and climb. We have a group of 25 people with kids who join us. Getting campsites is a challenge every year. This year we got several sites, so it worked out okay. Our sites were nice, but there was an electrical transformer box next to our site that buzzed loudly 24 hours a day. Not something you want to hear, especially at night. I thought it was a generator the first night. The campground accommodates campers/motor homes of all sizes. Most of them do use their generators for too long at one time, even though it was cold outside. However, there was one camper who had a very loud generator and they turned it on early in the morning and late at night. Several groups complained, but they just kept it running until we contacted the camp host and they told home to park somewhere else. It is unfortunate that they allow so many motor homes in the campgrounds. They ruin the experience of "camping" in the valley. Otherwise, the campground was nice, bathrooms clean and the hiking was great.

We have a small motor home (23 feet) but could barely fit in site #119 due to the narrowness of the site, trees on either side, and 2 huge trailers and trucks across the way, making it impossible to get in and out without asking them to move a vehicle. It was so hard, we never moved our RV. We appreciated the shuttle service. We saw big class As much longer than recommended, which ruins the experience for everyone. Please reinforce the size limits. Also, it was busy in the park but many eateries and stores were already closed for the season. We still love Yosemite (got married there) but our first time camping was less than stellar due to the crowded conditions and overflowing neighbors.

Site 119, nice big spot close to restroom and happy isles rd. Only 1 adequate hammock spot and in the sun most of the day. Shade from trees are decent though not very big.

Great campsite with it's share of scenery and nature, though lacks any trees, so daytime was unbearably hot to do anything on the campground until dusk. Going in your tent or sitting on the outdoor table was too hot to enjoy until it gets darker.

We loved the location of the Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite NP. It is so close to the village and to the many sites and activities within the park. It seemed to us that no matter where you are in the campground just look up there is an amazing view. We were able to get a last minute day of reservation thanks to someone’s cancellation.
