My family and I come to Upper Pines campground every year around Memorial Day. It is always great.

Campsite is slightly unlevel with little space between adjacent sites. Bathrooms were usually empty und decently clean. No data service with T-Mobile.

Campsite #113 has plenty of space and some shade too. We loved it! Just remember your insect repellent.

Wow from fall to winter overnight. Received over a foot of snow on Tues/Weds. We were snowed in, in our tents. Dug out Weds a.m. to a fresh 18 of snow. A snowplow came through and plowed the main loop on Weds afternoon. Later on Thursday we spotted a bobcat that was helping clear out individual spots. He came and helped us clear our driveway. Everyone was very helpful from kiosk staff and camp hosts. The campsite & campground was pristine after the snowfall and our campfire was blazing!Yeooow

We shuffled around a few different spots at Upper Pines and they were all great. Bathrooms were clean, fire pit and table was very useful. We had a large 18-20 ft sprinter van and it fit in each spot with no issues. Staff was friendly at check in. Close to everything! If you plan to "eat out" definitely don't skip getting coffee or pizza in Curry Village!

Site 113. Fairly large flat area for tents. Good-sized food locker. Fire ring that has an adjustable grill that can be raised or lowered for cooking. As per the map, the road to a trailhead runs past its backside about 200ft(?) away, but is closed to non-park vehicles in general, so only the occasional vehicle passes by. Hikers do walk by and you can hear their voices in the distance. Restrooms have flush toilets, toilet paper, and sinks but no hand soap. Bring a hand towel or use the wall dryer.Enjoyed our stay, planning to return in 2022.

I would recommend that campers make reservations at the earliest possible time to avoid the need to move their camps. We spent nights in three separate camp sites. The actual experience was very nice. Camp ground managers should consider establishing a program through which people could swap campsites. Might help a lot.
