Outside of the reservation system being Yosemite never fails to amaze

Camp Hosts were wonderful. Everything was great, with one exception:Every night, we had to ask people to be quiet, well after 10pm. Back in the day, the rager used to roll though and tell people to be quiet. Now campers have to enforce it, and it's uncomfortable. Thanks!

The lights in the men's and women's restrooms weren't working. We told the ranger and they had a maintenance crew fix the issue.

Campground was well maintained, spots were large with room for multiple tents, bathrooms were regularly serviced and mostly clean, and rangers were knowledgeable. Definitely heed the warnings about food/scent item storage, bears visited the campground on multiple nights.

Feel extremely lucky that I was able to find an available campsite for 2 nights at Upper Pines Campground while I was driving to Yosemite National Park. The campsite was large enough to place 2 tents and we had 2 parking spots even though we only had a single car. We also had a firepit, table and food storage. We were so close to Vernada Falls hiking trail and park shuttles. We really enjoyed staying at this campsite and we’re hoping to come back soon.

Great location on the valley floor

The campground is close to both the John Muir / Mist Trail Trailheads (10 minute walk) as well as Curry Village (5 minute drive / 15 minute walk). There is running water which can be used both for general purpose (cleaning dishes) as well as filling a bottle.Note that youre in Yosemite Valley and the campground will likely be packed to the rafters. Campsites generally tend to be very small and it can be hard to see the exact borders of your campsite relative to the next one.The campground can get noisy so bring earplugs. Also, if youre sensitive to light, bring eyeshades as people may be walking around with flashlights or drivers with headlights.

Getting campsite reservations in Yosemite is very difficult. Some of the sites should be available on a first come first served basis. I imagine that a few sites go unoccupied because people with reservations do not show up.

Great location. but too many campers are allowed to burn wood and smoke filled the air all day. bad for people with respiratory allergies. some RVs run generators and created a constant loud noise. feels like a refugee camp inside a cramped parking lot at $36 per night. no peace. will stay at a quieter place like Camp 4 or the lodge next time.

Campground was very nice and close to all hiking trails, the dump site was next to Campground and is free.

The campground is perfect for all sorts of hikes and the grounds are pretty well maintained. Would definitely stay again in the winter.

Love this campground! Only thing to note is it’s far back in the park so bring bikes! Also, it gets dark back there earlier (at least in the fall) because of the mountains around

Easy & friendly check-in. Clear rules. Bathrooms could have used another evening cleaning rotation. Bees by the water supply.

The campground as a whole is very busy. We had campsite 103. It was terrible. It was so close to both sites next to it with only a few trees so there was absolutely no privacy or shade. The bathrooms were also directly across from the campsite in this big open dirt area and the lights were very bright and stay on all night.

I’ve done a lot of camping, and this was my least favorite campsite of all time. Book in another loop if you have the opportunity.

I've stayed at the Pines campgrounds dozens of times. It is very crowded and utilitarian. Restrooms are spartan but adequate. The employees are always nice and helpful. Don't expect a quiet wilderness experience. But, hey, it's the Valley... you were lucky to get a site!
