Its a great campground, theres bathrooms around the campsite. Its located in a great location so you can plan your trip on the entire Valley very easily. Recommended.

Very crowded campground but it's Yosemite and going to be crowded. Some adjacent campers were noisy, had squealing kids, slammed car doors in the middle of the night . . . but again . . . it's Yosemite camping in the Valley. We felt very lucky to have snagged a cancellation since our first attempt to reserve in the valley was a dismal failure. Even though we had ELEVEN computers, all poised and ready to purchase 5 sites the very second the reservations opened, we totally failed! So we got reservations at a commercial site some 20 miles away. I spent the next 5 months trolling for cancellations, hitting the refresh button maybe a million times. Then one day with 2 weeks to spare, 3 sites became available for our days. I pounced and got one of them . . . .#97. It didn't look all that desireable, but it was a campsite on the Valley. All four of our tents would simply HAVE to fit. And we'd have to park 4 motorcycles in the driveway. We worried for the first two days about park rangers kicking us out for violating the 2 vehicle rule and the number of tents. Finally, I asked one that was patrolling. "No problem; just be sure that your motorcycles aren't in the road." Four of us, each in our own 3P tents and 4 motorcycles fit nicely. Rangers had no complaints of our "4 vehicles" since they only took the space of one vehicle and/or didn't stick out into the road. We could only use the first 10 feet of the driveway, it's pretty bad with rocks, lumps, large roots, etc. . For a truck, probably not too much of a problem. For a heavy motorcycle, quite a problem. The ramp We could not get the motorcycles in or out of the ramp. But there was still room for all four of our motors with none in the road. The campground is well situated for hiking. It's right at the Nevada Falls / Half Dome trailhead. Showers a quick 5 minute ride away. They're good. Restaurants 15 minutes away.
