Rangers were very friendly when checking sites for food given increased bear activity.

Very small spaces, high noise level, small well-used bathrooms, but beautiful park.

Beautiful campsite surrounded by mountains with lots of trees to protect us from the heat. Our campsite is adjacent to the restrooms, so we went into it knowing some people may be walking close to our campsite to get to the restrooms. However, not everyone has good camping etiquette and walks directly through our campsite to get to the restroom, waking us up at times. Other than that, one of the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen at a campsite. Not recommended to leave anything out since we saw birds and critters go through our camping neighbor's things left out. Overall, a great campsite for a truly magical place. Just remember the convenience of being next to the restroom comes with the potential tradeoff of rude or clueless campers being really near your site.

One of the best camp grounds in the US. Just don't understand why all of their sites are not always open ?The revenue is being lost... Thought they always needed revenue ?

My family and I came the day after it snowed so it was pretty cold! We stayed at site 94, our Wawona 6 tent fit perfectly and we were right next to the restroom which was great. Our reservation was for 11/16 so the crowds were fewer and we didnt have anyone walking through our campsite. The restrooms were very clean and the rangers were super friendly. Definitely will be coming back to this campsite!

This location cannot be beat. Down in the Yosemite Valley, very close to the start of many hikes including half dome, as well as accessibility to the river to swim.Buses and walking paths available to get around to other areas of the valley. The entry ladies that work there were such a joy every day! The one downside is there are no showers and it can be hard to get a spot. Recommend setting alerts for cancellations that is how I was able to snag 3 nights very last minute.

This campsite is right next to the bathrooms and garbage bins and so we brought earplugs and those were enough to stop the noise from being an issue. The bathrooms were clean but did not have soap, so we kept hand sanitizer in our bear bin and it was fine. The rangers were friendly and checking in and out was a breeze, just remember to check in the next morning if you arrive late in the day.

We had a great experience.
There were what appeared to be a large number sites empty.
Is it possible to create a greater incentive for people to attend their site or more of a consequence for not turning up. I appreciate it is a balancing act but the sites are hard to come by.
Could it be a larger refundable deposit

Great sites with good bathroom access. They take bears and food lockers very seriously so they will go through the rules with you every chance they get. But this site is right next to some of the most iconic parts of Yosemite.

Spot 94 is right next to restroom and garbage bin. Seems like it would be terrible but wasnt all that bad. Only really bad thing was the automatic lighting for the Restroom! Fortunately I had blackout window inserts for my trailer. Poor folks around me in tents though, it drove them crazy. So bright! Windows need to be open but they should have some sort of shade on the outside to block the light from torturing the other campers. Wont happen of course because the NPS really doesnt want you staying overnight in their park anyway. They keep cutting out more camping spaces.

Perfect location in Yosemite Valley! We had site 94 over the Labor Day long weekend and were surprised to find a few empty sites around us. The site wasn't the best in the campsite as it was close to the toilets and trash, but it also wasn't the worst. Our only real issue was the loud trash pick ups everyday at 8am. Otherwise, it had great amenities including fire pit and picnic table, and was nice to only have other campers on one side. We enjoyed the short walk to the nearby creek during the hot weather and the ease of access to trailheads (Mist Trail and Mirror Lake trail), the meadows, Curry Village and the creek. If we came back to Yosemite we would definitely aim to stay in Upper Pines (or the other Pines campgrounds) again. The location just can't be beaten!

We stayed in site #94 nice big site and had better views because it was on a corner but we also had people walk through our site for the bathroom and trash. we have a 24' travel teailer. There is fresh water to fill tanks and dump upon entrance to the upper pines campground. The campground was full but quiet. Walking distance to the Merced river- we put our feet in at the end of the day. Bathrooms were clean. There was even a water bottle refill station at each bathroom.

Was truly a blessed vacation. Week days are much quieter than the weekends. Do yourself a favor and reserve during the week. 6 days went too fast. Will be back for a February trip in the near future.

Spent a few days here from 12/28 to 1/2 and had a fantastic time. I used to spend time here as a kid during the same time frame and decided I needed to go back in time some 50 years. My younger brother joined me for this trip. We hiked every inch of the valley floor with my German Shepherd Dog, King and visited all the typical places. Yosemite is a beautiful place this time of year and without the typical crowds. At times I felt that I had the whole valley to myself. I spent NY's eve at the big party at the Mountain Bar and the staff was very welcoming to both me and my dog King. Had a wonderful time visiting Yosemite and I'll be back the same time next year!

Upper Pines was great. Next time I will reserve a site away from the main road and bathroom to get away from the light that's on all night and the noise.
