This campground was very convenient, close to the visitor center, bus stops and stores for things you forget! Would definitely recommend!

Major Issues

We had site #92. Site #94 next to us is the worst site ever. They need to get rid of it or just use it as extra parking. Our site is ok but we had to set our tent up probably 40 feet from the table and food locker. They were painting the bathroom that week so we had to go to a farther one. All in all it was good. This is only a review on the site in upper pines.

Great location, great amenities and the car can be parked next to the camping spot. A lot of hikes can be started here or at walking distance. I can absolutely recommend this place!

The campground was in good status and maintenance and the camp rangers were doing an excellent job of making sure everyone was using the bear boxes appropriately. The potable water is located at the sanitation site, immediately at the entrance of Upper Pines, and there are utility sinks (for disposing greywater from washing dishes) at each of the bathroom sites (generally two per campground loop). The Bernal, Mist and Mirror Lake trails are all very walkable and getting to Curry or other NPS bus locations are only a few minutes walking, in case you want to see other locations without driving around to them.

Reservation system sucks!!! We had no cell service in Yosemite unless we stayed near the village. Had to keep trying to see if there was an opening. Once we got one , we could do things away from the village. Then at night when we stayed at the campground, it had 20% vacancy!
Views of half dome, great bike trails, walk to the Merced River and the Mist Trail. Nice flat areas for tents, large food locker (fit two full-size coolers and food for 6), and well-maintained bathrooms and trash facilities. Campers were respectful of quiet-time. Couldn't ask for a better Yosemite Valley experience! We'll be back for sure.
Yosemite was awesome this spring with no crowds. With every other campsite empty for social distancing Upper Pines looked more like a park than a campground. With no shuttle busses running and no crowds on the footpaths Yosemite is a cyclist’s paradise. It was really nice to see so many happy seniors out on bikes after a year of COVID-19 lockdowns.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
