The campground itself is amazing, really close to Yosemite Valley as well as popular hikes nearby. We stayed at multiple sites during our trip. The downside to this spot is its so close to other campsites you feel like youre all on top of each other. Theres not much space between your campsite and every other campsite around it, its very narrow and it was difficult to know what was ours and what was our neighbors area when setting up our tents. Also, people constantly walked through our site to get to the bathrooms which was annoying to say the least especially if youre tent camping. Theres little to no privacy at this site, but at the other site we stayed at we had so much space and privacy. I wouldnt stay at this site again, but I would recommend the campground itself.

I reserved a camp site for two nights. When we went there there was heavy rain during whole night and more rain was expected. In the morning the park rangers came and said we can get a refund for our second night if we decide to leave. We told it while leaving at the gate. Person there said he would look at it. However I have not received any refunds.

Good spot, large enough for two tents.

Camping spot was OK, but the bathrooms need a lot of work. Motion light does not work right and the sinks are old.

Stayed here for two nights. Positives- great clean toilets and drinking water available. Close to the village and shuttles to get us everywhere we needed to go. Dump station and water was super close. Site 84 was very level and lots of space. Friendly staff on duty. Negatives- someone pulled into the campsite beside us at midnight, but parked in the wrong spot so were only a couple of feet from our camper. This isnt the fault of any of the camp staff however, probably just squatters.

Super crowded, sites are close to each other. Campfire smoke is filling the whole valley in the evening.Only stay if you want to do long day hikes.

Yosemite is definitely not dog friendly, unless you have a 5th Wheel or RV that you can leave the dog in while you're out hiking and roaming. The Upper Pines campground was a disaster for us. The sites are tight and aren't defined enough, so when we got there our site was being encroached on both sides by other campers. I gently asked a guy to move his tent closer to his group and he threw a passive-aggressive, whisper-tantrum. The group on the other side pretended they didn't know they were in our space. We left after one night, canceling our other two nights. At least we were refunded.

Upper Pines is a great location but this year the shuttle isnt going as much so its not as convenient to travel around in the valley. The Merced River is already too shallow to river raft without scraping your bottom on rocks (this was in early July 2024). But the valley is so beautiful and unbeatable!

Super awesome crew! Check in was helpful, borrowing a shovel was easy to start digging out the campsite. The shovel I borrowed was broken but should have brought my own. Snow plow came by and finished the job. Way helpful as most of the snow was ice chucks. Always love this site

Great spot close to everything. Easy to access the entire valley floor and close to curry village and yosemite village for meals or coffee.

Camping in Yosemite Valley is a privilege! Getting a spot is so difficult that lady luck is a factor. Once in the campground, the camping space and proximate of close by neighbors is obviously not ideal. Noise, generators, smoke from fire pits, loud music and kids are all possible, however, you are in Yosemite Valley one of the most sought after parks in the United Sates! Get away from your camp spot and explore the valley and it's magic! If you can't find terrific things to see and do, it is your own fault! All the resources are in books, park handouts, on line and ranger knowledge. The campgrounds are for sleeping and eating and making s'mores. Bathrooms are clean, (and heated!) signs are helpful, bears are hungry...enjoy this place!!

Too many dogs in the campground. Barking kept me up at night (even with ear plugs) and early one morning I woke to an off-leash dog trying to get into my tent. Rangers don’t seem to enforce the rules effectively.

We couldnt stay en the RV camping because the upper pines was closed because potential strong windy. We have to park the motor home along the way out of camping. We dont receive any reward for that.
