Great location, campsites are well maintained. It's a little difficult have no potable water at the campsite, but bathrooms aren't too far away from any of the sites.

We love Yosemite in Autumn! Yes, it was chilly, but the tradeoff is having the place to ourselves. Yosemite Valley inspires us and nurtures our souls. Upper Pines campground, hosted by Darren and Christine in the kiosk, felt like home. :)

Best place to camp or visit in California. We stayed for 3 nights and didnt have enough time to enjoy the few hikes we wanted to do. Vernal Falls is a must do hike. Give yourself 4 hours and spend time at the Emerald Pool at the top of Vernal Falls. Take a dip in the pool at lower Yosemite Falls also a must. Happy Isles is a must do trail for pet. Foods and beers at Curry Village were amazing.Getting a camp site is basically equal to winning the lottery.

Upper Pines by late April is so nice for camping. The snow has passed and the rain is not a big issue anymore. Upper Pines was busy but pleasant. Bathrooms are just okay but I wish there were showers. The current reservation system has kept the numbers of campers and visitors to more tolerable levels throughout the park. After the campground checkin booth closes at 4pm, it a real shame to see so many campsite no shows on the posted list. I counted 60 that day with some coming later but the majority of these never came. We all know how difficult it is to book a campsite here.

Beautiful camping area with many facilities nearby such as the restroom. Furthermore, this campground was located close by the Mist trail (Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall) and Mirror Lake. For the other trails, we took the free shuttle bus. The bus stop was 5 min away.

Love this rustic campground in the middle of the beautiful Yosemite valley. Bike trails are great. Pizza deck has great food. Dump station is nice and FREE!

Reservation system worked great, our camp spot was perfect and enjoyed our stay.

This campground is amazing but our particular site was very poorly maintained. The asphalt is in very poor condition creating a massive sinkhole in the ground right where our trailer door is. The sinkhole was probably 5-6 feet wide so it was totally unavoidable.
@Christoph81424 · Camped on Apr 3, 2022 at Campsite #72
Site 72 is very crowded. Generators run none stop and rather than the fresh mountain air youll be soaking up fumes. Really wish theyd limit generators to 1 loop as the NPS has done with other parks.

Ranger was extremely helpful with tips on how to quickly hit nearby trailheads. Allowed us to spin by our campsite to see if it was still occupied (even though we were early) and advised that we not talk to them if they were still in the spot. It turns out it was not occupied and she signed us in.

We had a good time. We have been there several times in the winter, but was surprised that the snow from December was still on the ground and still in the campsites. YNP always suggests that campers come in all 4 seasons, but the park offers No programs, very few services, and most of the concessioner services are closed. And they wonder why it is always crowded during peak season. I have been to Yosemite 71 years in a row!

Due to the snow, the parking space was incredibly small. We were informed before going they had been cleared, but it was only about half cleared. With that said, one of the rangers who was on duty, Daniel, was outstanding and incredibly helpful. We were able to clear enough space and the site worked fine. We haven't camped at Yosemite in the snow before, but definitely would again after this trip. It was absolutely beautiful.

This might be a good spot for campers but not for tents. In comparison to other state parks you have no privacy, the spots are small and the washrooms were dirty and without soap. Maybe some of the other campgrounds in the park are better but this was the only option in November. Would not go back.

Hosts/gate personnel very friendly and helpful, sites small, no one camping on either side of us so good but would have been cramped if those sites were occupied. Close to path to Curry Village and road to Happy Isles

This site is right in the beautiful Yosemite Valley. You'll need to reserve it as soon as it opens for the booking because it sells out within seconds.

It was our first time Yosemite and it was amazing. Regarding the grounds themselves it was perfect. We have a 3 and 5 year old and Upper Pines was definitely a great location and starting point for some amazing trails and waking distance for some food options if you want to take a break from cooking. Park staff was all great. Upper pines is also conveniently located near fresh water and dumping area for those RV’s. Can’t wait to go back!

This space #072 was short for our 25 ft C-Class motorhome. In fact the front of the RV slightly stuck out into the road a bit. The terrain was very uneven and I had to use many blocks in addition to the leveling device to get level.
But the location was great and the bathroom clean.

Given I could only reserve for one night, didn’t spend a whole lot of time at the campsite. I had a difficult time opening the food locker in the morning, possibly due to it freezing. I’m hoping to return soon and spend more time as the park is lovely.

Getting past the headache of actually getting a spot in any of the NP's...that reservation system is super frustrating! We love Upper Pines...but then again, we love any campsite we can get in Yosemite. Just to be there is a treat. We stayed in Sp72. It was well located. The only drawback being that we rely on solar without hookups, and it's a very shady spot. The "backyard" backs up to 3 other campsites, which would normally feel crowded, but with COVID restrictions, we didn't mind. Mostly, I want to comment on the staff we encountered. From checking in, to daily passing through the kiosk and encountering rangers out and about; we were struck by every single employee's positive, friendly and helpful attitude. In these stressful times, that says a lot. To top off our positive experience, we had to leave a couple of days early due to work issues. We were meant to stay 6 days and had to leave on the 4th. We dropped our hangtag in the slot and didn't think about it again until my phone rang a couple of days later. It was someone from YNP asking if we had left early, and once I confirmed that, he told me he would issue a refund for the unused nights. Bonus. I wasn't expecting that. Thank you. We did the Nevada Falls, and Yosemite Point hikes-the former a time-worn favorite and the latter being strenuous, but well worth it.
