About the only thing this campground has going for it is the location. ie. in the valley, close to a number of good hiking trails. The campsites are laid out in such a manner as to maximizes the number of people in a limited space.Campsites are extremely close and absolutely no privacy. You can hear every word spoken. The overcrowding also seems to impact any sense of etiquette as I had multiple people walk right thru my site will I was preparing a meal, even though the road was only about 15 feet away. And don't get me started about the person who was running the generator from hell.I was at the campground in late January when it wasn't full. I can't imagine how it would be in the summer. The camp hosts, while I was there, were very pleasant and full of helpful information. However, even that positive aspect does not overcome my general feeling about the campground. I can't imagine ever going back.

It was a very comfortable experience for me, especially since I was camping for the very first time! I appreciated the rangers proving very detailed information about bear safety. Camping in Yosemite is just out of this world!

Great spot. Campsite is not the best for rainy days, a little river and lake can form around most of the site. I recommend all other times.

We love Yosemite. We had an issue with a key locked in our vehicle and the rangers were very helpful and got us in touch with the local authorities who were able to help. We always have a great time visiting Yosemite and we look forward to our next trip.

Great Campsite for our tents, and good access to trailheads right from our site. Enjoyed staying here, and high and dry - even with record snowpack melting! Open to neighbors campsites, but groups very similiar in mindsets, so no problem at all - kinda fun meeting locals and other visitors to swap experiences.

Rangers came around and let us know about a worsening upcoming storm, suggested leaving if we weren't prepared to possibly deal with road closures. We decided to leave and to our surprise we were refunded automatically for our second night. Campground was beautiful with the snow on the ground.

The sites have very large bear boxes. Lots of bathrooms available with water bottle fill up stations. Easy walk to Curry Village or Happy Isles.

Great campground in an incredible park. The hike to vernal falls and Clark Point was worth the effort, thought the trails were difficult in March because of snow and ice in places.

We stayed at Upper Pines for four nights in a travel trailer at the end of February, 2022. The first three loops of six were open. While sunny, weather was cool with night temperatures near freezing. With the low sun angle, the sun did not reach our campsite until 9 AM and left by 12:45 PM. Maybe 2/3rds of campers were tent camping and a great many of them utilized fires for warming. As a result the campground was smoky mornings and evenings.Staff cleaned the bathrooms regularly and there was adequate toilet paper, but given the wear and tear on the facilities the bathrooms gave a dirty impression. It was perplexing that bathrooms not located on the access road did not have defined walkways to them. The bathroom closest to our site was in the open area between the second and third loops. Accessing it required walking thru occupied campsites. Yosemite is fantastic, crowds were minimal during our mid week stay, our interaction with staff was very good, but Upper Pines Campground is worn and the lack of barriers between campsites makes it seem crowded.

Site 68 is narrow but deep, just fit our 25 travel trailer and tow vehicle. There was plenty of room for a large tent but the second vehicle had to park in nearby overflow parking. The falls and mirror lake were amazing. Hard to beat Yosemite especially this time of year (March/April).

It's Yosemite valley, so breathtaking all the time. Facilities were clean and campsites were good sized. The park rangers are the best! I locked the keys to my rental in the trunk, no cell service and thought I'd be spending the day searching for enough service and then waiting for AAA. But no! I talked to a ranger at a kiosk who called another ranger who was getting to my car as I returned. He was from Talkitna, I didn't get his name. Another ranger, from san Clemente, helped us get in. Thank you guys so much. We spent the day hiking instead of waiting!
