The campground is quite nice, plenty of room in most spots for a small to medium rig, some spots have room for larger rigs. The maneuvering can be a little tight for large rigs but people do it. I think a large class A or a large 5th wheel would struggle and i didnt see any in the whole park for a week. The whole park is much more suited for small to medium rigs, and especially campervans. The bathrooms were decent but as usual with National Parks, there is no hot water or soap and no showers in the campground. There is plenty of potable water throughout the entire park, and an RV fill/dump station.

Convenient camp for accessing the upper valley, with a great dump and fresh water station.

Its Spring time with melting snows and the occasional snow shower. The campground has snow and water pools in spots so you should be prepared to drive and walk in this environment. The campsite was riddled with aluminum foil bits and other plastic litter but in better shape than expected due to the current political environment. I just pitched in and cleaned up the campsite. Wonderful location near the trail to Happy Isles and Mirror Lake. This is the best National Park!

The campground is in rough shape. Needs some work Its poorly laid out. All worth it to stay in Yosemite. Our neighbors who were 10 feet away left their trash out overnight and the crows tore it to shreds, they were lucky a bear didnt come by or the ranger. They did keep us up till 2am and this was in winter time. So, to sum it up, love the park, campground is not good.

Wonderful campground. The restrooms could be cleaner and more modern.Shuttle Service is great! Not the fault of the campground or nps, but it's noisy because of the many vehicles and security systems of the cars

Experience was fine. No issues nor problems. In general, Maps need to be updated. We followed map (of valley) with trail that was shown (on map) to go from lower pines over to Ahwahnee along the river. No such trail exists. We were also curious as to why the campground sign showed "Full" when campground was probably less than 20% occupied. Just general questions.

We've camped at Upper Pines several times before but this time was the most cramped. We were at site #66 and the neighboring sites felt way too close. All four neighbors hand campfires/tables or tents within 20 feet of ours. We were so close we could have just put all our tables together and blended 5 families!

The bathrooms were also typically dirty - people are gross and don't keep things clean. I wouldn't want to be the park staff that have to clean the bathrooms.

But Upper Pines is in a fantastic location as you're within a mile or so walk to Mirror Lake, Happy Isles, The Mist Trail, and you're right next to the amenities at Curry Village.

We only managed to get one night at Upper Pines and only because of a last minute cancellation. People we talked to had booked over 5 months in advance, a word to the wise. The campground was clean, but to us, overcrowded. We had to walk through several other campsites to get to the toilets and our campfire conversations were drowned out by generators and dozens of boisterous kids. We felt like we were in an RV sales lot with only 8 to 10 feet between us and our neighbors. As for location, you couldnt ask for better. The campground is deep in the valley with easy access to the bike trails, hiking trails, and the stores at Curry Village.

The campsites are very close together but should be expected since Yosemite is the Crown Jewel of National Parks and the compactness allows for more campers to stay in the valley. Upper Pines is ideally situated in the heart of Yosemite and very close to all the major attractions and hiking trails. The Restrooms were well maintained. Can’t wait to go back!

Due to the pandemic the campground was operated with 50% or less capacity, we had no immediate neighbors that made the experience even more enjoyable. The restroom was clean and maintained nicely, and the best part was the Firefall!

rare for me to score a site at the upper pines, but we got lucky and it's much nicer to stay in the park than having to drive in and out. Nowhere do I sleep better than in the park, especially after a long day of rock climbing. COVID precautions were taken with loads of sites being closed, so that felt safe. Since the last time I've been here, the campground seems to have transformed more and more into RV country, yet most folks turn off their generators after the generator time window is over. Bathrooms were alright and mostly clean. As usual in the pines campgrounds: it's a fridge. The sun doesn't reach here much so it stays colder for longer as compared to other places in the park, which is lovely when you're a fan of cold temps. For November, the park was surprisingly full of people, probably because earlier in the year access was limited, so if you're thinking of hiking that 4mile trail or up the falls, bring your mask and wear it. Loads of huffing and puffing. favorite wintry early morning activity when the land still lies in frost: board walks. It's super beautiful and rather serene when the humans still sleep and the only other critters around are the coyotes and the deer. YOS is probably my favorite park, and no matter how often I visit, my mind is blown time and again by its beauty (and I come here A LOT).

Upper pines was a great location for camping. You are close in proximity to your neighbor, but thats somewhat to be expected. The creek is right across the street which was great. Of course the views were beautiful. We went on a couple of hikes walking distance from us and that was really nice to not have to get on any bus or think about traveling to a different part of the park (although thats worth it, too!) You are surrounded by trees so you can bring a hammock! As long as you go into it with humble expectations, youll enjoy it! I went at a time that wasnt too busy so Im sure that altered my experience in a positive way! It looked nice to have a bike there so Id recommend bringing one if you are thinking about it! Water shoes will come in handy at the creek! Lots of squirrels and crows ready to get up in your biz!
