Nice camp spot, clean bathrooms. Perfect location for exploring Yosemite Valley.

Facilities were clean. Rangers come around often to make sure food is stored correctly to prevent bear encounters. Beware of the ravens. They will try to get into your stuff if you leave anything out.

Wonderful Campground perfect for many hikes. Only 4 stars due to missing showers and old and not so clean restrooms.

Upper pines is somewhat crowded but close to all the beautiful things to see in Yosemite Valley. Bikes are a big asset for getting around the valley. Bathrooms don’t have showers! Bear lockers are a must.

Camped during the winter with snow. Great service, clean restrooms, and curry village is a short walk away if you need anything.

How can it be bad in Yosemite Valley?

Amazing campground. Would have liked a campground more on the edge of the campsite, but still plenty spacious.

Camping in Yosemite valley is always a spiritual experience for me, and I feel blessed to have been able to reserve a campsite.

As campers know its very difficult to get a campsite at Yosemite. We stayed 3 nights and needed to stay at three different campsites as we were unable to obtain consecutive nights at the same site. We are in a 26 foot class c motorhome and were in sites 56,74 and 228. Site 56 is squeezed between tight trees on both sides, we needed to pull the mirrors in to park or they would hit the trees! Site 74 and 228 were easy back ins. All were level and leveling wasnt needed. Camp pluses- youre in Yosemite! Beautiful vistas nearby and from the campground. Easy to get to nearby walks to mirror lake and vernal falls. Dump station was well set up w/ potable water 20 feet or so before actual dump site as it should be. There was a faucet at dump site for rinsing hose or hooking to black water wash-out if rig set up for it. There are two dump stations side by side. Probably the prettiest site Ive seen for a dump station as its right by the river. Camp negatives- some spots are super tight ie. 56, some sites are very unlevel. The higher numbered sites, like 228, have very little space between campers. We could hear our neighbors having a quiet conversation next door. Youre literally 5 or 10 feet from your neighbor. 56 and 74 had significantly more space between campsites. Bottom line, because youre in Yosemite the campground is very capable and youre generally not there to spend time in camp but to see the sights and experience Yosemite.

Campsite is located near must-see spots at Yosemite Valley. All campsites have a restroom nearby and have enough space to place your tent. Just be sure to carry proper equipment; however, you can get most of the stuff at the Valley's stores (Yosemite and Curry Village).

Camping site 56 at Upper Pines Campground was flooded when I arrived. The site also did not have a table available. I had to use an adjacent table for cooking purposes. Nearby restroom was not sanitary so decided not to use the facility after the first morning. My wife and I decided to use site 56 for sleeping only. Cooking was done elsewhere.
