Very convenient to the bike trails which run through the entire park.

Site is spacious, near bathroom. Light from bathroom sort of bright. Good spot for winter camping.

Our campsite #55 at Upper Pine campground was very good. It was easy to set up tent because the site is very spacious, flat and quite. The restroom was also very clean. We all enjoyed camping here.

Campsite was flat, comfortable, and the best access to Yosemite Valley!

My stay at Upper Pines was amazing. It was my first time ever camping, and I planned a solo trip for a week in January. The weather was cold getting down to the low twenties at night, but with a zero degree sleeping bag I had no troubles at all. The bear locker provided plenty of space for all of my foods and scented goods, and the picnic table and fire pit were awesome. The bathrooms were much nicer than anticipated with heating, flushing toilets, and running water. Upper pines is located super close to one of the marketplaces in Yosemite Valley which I was not aware of, so if you were to run out of any supplies you would have no trouble finding them there. The campground is close to two great hikes, Vernal and Nevada Falls being one of my favorites during my trip. My longest hike was to Yosemite Point, and while challenging it was super fulfilling and provided a great view of the valley. As a new camper I would say the most useful things I brought along were merino wool base layers, and crampons that I could attach to my hiking shoes which made hiking in the snow much easier than I thought it would be. Overall, I would highly recommend taking a trip to Yosemite and staying at the Upper Pines Campground. It was a life changing experience that I hope to do many more times in the future.

Great location. To bad generators are allowed in the valley. It really degrades the experience when your neighbor fires it up.

Took 2 hours through the traffic to reach the spot. Felt the spot was pricey for the facilities provided.

Always great to be in the Valley. A bit wet and cold tent camping as the first winter storm blew through the night before. Our neighbors told us that the site was deep in water until mid-day. It was pretty soggy when we were setting up. There is a drainage gully that runs along the parking space, so something to keep in mind if rain is in the forecast. Site has a bit larger area between & behind than most others and far enough away from restrooms to not be disturbed. Would stay at this site again. Had our Alaskan Malamute with us and we noticed a lot of other campers had their dogs as well - Not sure if it is the time of year or what.

The campgrounds were well maintained and the bathrooms were clean.
Since the shuttles are not running, you need to either have your own transportation or be ready to do some hiking.
The open trails that we hiked, Mirror Lake, Vernal Falls to the bridge and Yosemite falls were not very crowded and a pleasure to hike.
On our way out we stopped at the Meadows below El Capitan ands watched climbers scurrying up the face.
With the reservation system in place we were amazed at how uncrowded the park was.
We may never see the park as void of crowds as we did last week.
It was AWSOME.
