Very spacious spot and it's nice that you don't have anyone staying directly behind you. Clean and warm restrooms were nice in the cold weather. The walking distance to curry village was convenient.

The site was nice and flat, so I easily got my RV onto the parking spot. And the neighbors were nice and quiet, even the neighbor with several boy scouts in several tents! Everyone behaved. Bathrooms were clean and warm, but be warned, the bright lights are always on, so if lights bug you at night, pick a spot not by the bathrooms. Two things that future visits must understand are these: 1) the sites are very small, so I felt like I was right on top of my neighbors. I ended up spending pretty much all my evening time in my rig. 2) Check in time ends at 4pm. I arrived at 5pm, so the note at the kiosk notice informed me that I needed to check in the next morning at 10am! Since I on a long hike the next day, no way did I want to hang out until 10am just to check in. I found the camp host, and although he wasn't there, I was able to leave a note explaining my problem. He found my campsite a little later and took care of the problem, so I didn't need to hang out the next morning.

We camped in site 17 in the Upper Pines Campground Aug. 19- Aug 22 2024. The campsite is as expected. Tight with your neighbors, quiet after 10pm, some shade at different times of the day. We put our tent under the tree, it was shady later in the day. We didn't expect the construction site behind the row of camp sites we were in. They were taking down large trees (not thinning) and the vehicles beep, beep, beeped all day long. The best part of the site/campground was you could walk to many areas. We walked to the Vernal and Nevada Falls trailhead, Curry Village, and a couple of shuttle stops. We even took a dip in the Merced River. The site was a mixed bag, convenient but not as relaxing as we would have hoped for.

We were in site 17. There is a large open space behind the site which is really nice. There are also great views of the valley. Aprilwas uncrowded and there was plenty of water flowing. All the park staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. We hiked to Columbia rock on the upper Yosemite falls trail. We hiked to Nevada falls. Both hikes were amazing and uncrowded. I recommend bringing bikes as the bike paths on the valley floor are amazing and a great way to get around.

We stayed in site 017 in late February. While it was cold, it was worth it, if you are in a trailer or sturdy waterproof tent. The firefall event was going on, which made it VERY busy. My advice; if youre there for the firefall event, come early, be prepared to sit in your spot for several hours. Parking is limited. If you dont appreciate crowds; get back to camp by 3 or 4. So very worth the trip. Everyone was nice, respectful, and the campground was clean, w a shower available at Curry Village.

Absolutely stunning as usual. Fabulous park and campground. Easy access to multiple hikes, stores, food and anything you could really need.

This particular spot (#17) received some damage from the snow and subsequent snow melt. Unfortunately, this spot appears to be the lower lying escape route for the water to try and reach the river. As a result, the ground was very moist, somewhat stinky, and totally uneven with multiple ruts throughout which made finding a good spot for our tent near impossible. We slept at a slant under a tree and hoped for the best, while looking out at the insane view of the granite rocks in the distance.

It all worked out and we had a fantastic time. As long as you can adapt, you’ll be fine. No issues if you came with a trailer or drove a camper.

So you increase the campground fees by 40% and then completely abandon managing the snow in the campground leading to cars stuck for HOURS. Completely disappointed in Yosemite. We spend every Christmas in the campground in our RV and to be told that we have to leave after 3 days because you’re closing the campground, refund us our money for the remainder of our stay (11 more days) and then immediately put those days up for others to reserve was a slap in the face. How dare you give up our site to other people when we reserved months earlier the moment they went available. We’re done with Yosemite!!

Beautiful, convenient location. Hike from camp to Mirror Lake, Valley Loop Trail, and Mist Trail (Vernal & Nevada Falls). Bathrooms clean with lights, heat, & flush toilets. Plan ahead sites booked solid in Spring/Summer. A little more flexibility in late Fall/Winter.

It’s very difficult to get a reservation for a campsite, but if you get lucky, the camp experience is very rewarding!

The bathrooms were clear and above expectation. All the rangers we met were extremely friendly and helpful; even when they had to tell us to put out our morning fire, the ranger was extremely respectful.

Beautiful campgrounds in one of the most spectacular places on Earth, but spent a full hour in traffic going a mile from the visitor center to the campground on Saturday afternoon.
