Awesome campground. Always tricky being a night photographer and camping. They always try to give away my campsite because I sleep at weird hours and not there throughout the evening... Great experience would go again

Overall experience here was great. The campground itself was well maintained, amenities available as listed, with extra comfort/convenience found in the heated bathrooms during winter. Rangers at check-in were very welcoming & available to campers. Also informative about current conditions & animal activity. Site itself is convenient (more or less a 5 min drive to visitor center), at the same time far enough from crowds to camp in silence. Service can be variable, but basic phone calls/text wasnt an issue for us. Definitely would come back again!

It is a lovely, centrally located, clean, and quiet (in November) campground. I had enough reception with ATT to make calls. Beware of plummeting pinecones!

Site was perfect for hammocks. Close to bathroom, water and trash. Bus stops at entrance which was not too far to walk. Also close to bridge area where you can cool off in the River.

Nothing like waking up to a generator at 7:00 am, or have camp neighbors 20 feet away drink Fireball and talking till 3:00am. The campground never gets sun all day. Temps in the day were around 38 so having sum sun helps to keep warm. Used the camp site as a base camp only, never spent any daylight hours there.

I hadnt pre-booked a campsite but was able to book in at the campground offices on a Thursday night in early December. The weekend was fully booked so pre-booking is a must if its a weekend. People were helpful and one issue with a toilet was promptly resolved. The nearby hiking was superb and the free shuttle a great boon. My one night stdd as I was perfect!

Excellent experience at this campground. It's hard to have a bad time when you're in such a beautiful place. My only complaint is that there should most definitely be hand soap dispensers in all of the camp bathrooms.

This site was close to the bathroom which was great. The sites are clean and well maintained. I am giving it a 4 star because this site was very close to 3 other sites which didn't allow much room at all for our tent. The picnic table was also really close to site 10's picnic table and fire pit... like less thab 10 feet away. We pretty much had to put our tent behind our car and next to the picnic table. Luckily though, the site next to us (10) was empty so we had room. Great site, again just too close to the others. Also, close to the bus stop for Yosemite's Free Shuttle that can take you to different trails and scenic walks such as Mist Trail, Mirror Lake and Yosemite Falls. I'll never walk again lol! These are only 15-20 minutes walks but after a lonnggg hike, it's nice to get a bus ride back!

The visit to Yosemite in winter was extraordinary. Having a campsite at Upper Pine was welcome and I reserved the site months ago. The check-in and out went very smoothly and receptionists were helpful. I could find a place of running water near the campsite. The water station for drinking water was shut off next to bathrooms. Overall, the Valley is quiet and good to find parking place.

our campsite was wonderful but it was still so disappointing to see so many empty/un used/unattended camp sites when it is so hard to obtain one in the first place.

Camp was clean and well maintained. no showers wasn't a problem since we could shower close in curry village. spaces were nice and neighbors were chill and it wasn't too crowded. We have a large group of 25 with multiple sites which we had to change a couple times and it was no problem for camp rangers to check us in and out. We hiked mist falls to the top pf vernal fall and also continued to the top of Nevada Falls. The walk to the start of the hike was very close to our campsite so we just walked. We also rented bikes from Curry Village for a day and explored the Valley Floor by bike which was also amazing! We hiked to the bottom of the Yosemite Falls. We wanted to take the shuttle there but every time we tried each shuttle was full so we just walked there which was a little taxing on the teens, so just expect full shuttles and you may get on, but your whole group won't. Many buses had no room and no one got off the stop. we even tried walking to another stop. We also ate at he pizza place at curry village which was pretty dang good for pizza in Yosemite! We also walked from our camp to Mirror Lake and the girls jumped in the freezing waters. It was an easy hike compared to the Nevada falls hike and was under 2 hours, even with a 45 minute stop at the lake to swim. We wanted to eat at the ice cream place at curry village but they close at 2:30 pm. So we drove over to Yosemite village and bought 6 gallons at $10 each and a pack of plastic spoons... the teens ate straight out of the cartons!

We loved our stay at Upper Pines. An incredible experience to sleep in a National Park. Amazing access to Yosemite Village. You can connect to a paved trail via bicycle or on foot, and do a loop around. Also many other hikes within walking distance of the campground. We hope to be able to visit again. I wish I took the opportunity and took the short walk at night to the open meadow by curry village, I'm sure the star gazing is epic from there. A few things worth providing would be a dish washing area, showers, and soap in the bathrooms.
