The campground was very clean. People were so nice. Camp hosts were awesome! We just had such a great experience with other campers. Our first evening we had issues with people walking right through our campsite but held our peace. But other campers were so considerate and friendly. We will be returning to this campground.

Generally a great campsite for its location in the Valley but very tough to book. Rangers are friendly and helpful. Few minutes drive to the Village store to get provisions like food and ice. Sites in the first loop are closest to the ranger station and road; however you also can see and hear a little amount of road traffic. Doesnt bother me though as the views of the trees and granite are quite majestic. Site 008s bear box is not level so the doors tend to swing to one side, and the box is dented 4 inches downwards in the back left corner from what looks like a fallen tree that has since been removed, so its not as large as the others. Restrooms with flushing toilets a plus. Will be back.

Upper pines was a great spot in the valley! Close to Curry Village and the Happy Isles trailhead. Clean bathrooms too, but no soap so bring your own!

Came after the blizzard. It was beautiful. Such clear skies with such wonderful views. Quite colder then I expected but that's on my partner and I. Love that's its close to Curry Village and not too far from all the wonderful hikes. We will be coming back again.

Booked this trip to get a chance to see the fire falls phenomenon at Horsetail Falls. The campsite was quiet, clean, with heated bathrooms. Highly recommend!

The location is pretty good and is easy to access trails and services within the valley. Camping area and restrooms were clean and well maintained. As it was winter time, there were heating in the restrooms and flowing water, really useful. Only bad thing if you like peace it's the noise of generators in RVs - ok, it is not a fault of the site, the generator usage times are well-defined and enforced, but be ready for them :)

If you enjoy camping in a jammed parking lot this camping will be perfect for you. Expect to have your camping neibors as close as 20 feet from you :)

Best geographical location to all the hot sites in Yosemite Valley. The shuttle is ez pz to hop on/off and multiple stops are nearby. Its also a 5 minute walk from Curry Village if you need to pick up any supplies. Its very close to the loop on the East end where they cut off car traffic and only allow bikes, pedestrians, and shuttles.

We stayed at Upper Pines in February of 2023. We had never been winter camping before and were excited to try it. The drive into the valley was breathtaking, with the snow on half dome and a full moon suspended just above. Our time started out on a high note! The campground is beautiful, bathrooms are clean and warm, though they do smell like pit toilets, and the rangers are attentive. We went outdoor ice skating at curry village which was very fun! However, unfortunately we did not research this term wintry mix and were surprised with a rainy and windy storm in the middle of the night. Our tent flooded and our easy-up got mangled. We were able to get some sleep and woke to beautiful soft snowfall and really wanted to stay, but since our bedding and sleeping mats got soaked we had to leave. Hoping to try it out again winter 2024! Note that we know what wintry mix is. We did notice that several of the campsites were completely flooded, which would have been very bad for us if we were in one of those. We were in site 18 and our tent was in a bit of a puddle.

Like many other campsites, the ground is quite dusty. No power. So bring your own power bank. Cellular connectivity is very weak on ATT. Absolutely no traces of food left outside over night. Every piece of left over must be picked up and lock inside the metal bin.

Upper Pines is in a great location and was in pristine condition. Our site was spacious and fairly quiet. Close to hikes to view Half Dome, Nevada & Vernal Falls. Had the perfect spot to stargaze. A great place to set up base camp. Cant wait for my next journey.
