Great location in the valley

The campgrounds are beautiful - but I do have 2 recommendations:Ban RVs. Or move them to another RV dedicated campground. It really kills the "living in the woods" mood and just feels like you're living in an RV park - not a fantasy I want to enjoy personally. This is by far my biggest complaint. One more note: People start RVs for generators etc. and let them idle, and it just feels like I'm eating dinner with my family in a parking lot. It's disgusting. Improve your bathrooms. Increase the amount of toilets considering how many people share the upper campgrounds. It doesn't cost much to update basic fixtures as well.Add showers if possible - it would make a huge difference.

Great site near the river. On the smaller side, but neighbors were great and the host was very welcoming. Really can't go wrong in the valley. Restrooms were very clean and sites were well maintained. Perfect location for Valley hikes and cooling off in the river.

Upper Pines is a beautiful campground with incredible, up close views of Half Dome. You can walk across the street and right into the Merced River. You might even see a bear here, so make sure to lock your food up in the provided lockers. You should absolutely check out El Capitan, Olmsted Point, Glacier Point, and Bridalveil Falls

Smaller area for tents. Youll be close to neighbors. But amazing campsite very clean. We had two two person tents and it worked out

It was difficult to make reservation, but worth to put effort. Campsite is clean, well maintained. Quiet and comfort. I would recommend to try to book and have great experience!

Everything was amazing and magical. (I wanted to write a bad review so nobody would know how amazing this spot is). It's perfect for an RV. The gray and black water station is close. The river and beach area are right across the street, perfect for jumping in on a hot day, and a private view of sunset on Half Dome. The rangers became our friends during our stay. Friendly people walk and ride their bikes by and say, "Hi" with a smile on every face. Lots of doggies to pet.

The camp hosts are super nice and so is the staff! It's a super clean area. There isn't too much privacy you are right next to the other camp site

I loved it here. The spot was right next to the river and curry village. Upper pines is the spot.

The Camp Hosts were the BEST! Very Friendly, cordial, polite, and helpful - they were a joy. The NFS is lucky to have them, and speaking of the NFS, you all need to give them some help, because they have a lot on their plate. The bathrooms were dirty - for the 8 days I was there I saw the same trash on the floor. The toilet paper was always kept full which was appreciated by all. The campground was nice overall and I enjoyed it. You need to open up Lower Pines, and fully open Upper Pines, all loops. It's difficult getting reservations and it'd be nice to have more options.

Too Smokey. Way too much smoke from individual campfires. The haze was disorienting in the light of our headlamps. Maybe group fire rings at the end of each loop as a solution? That would eliminate 40 fires per loop!

Yosemite is a beautiful place, and the campgrounds are adequate. Too bad you can't say the same thing about the restrooms in the campgrounds or the showers at the Curry Village pool. Disgusting, to put a positive spin on things. I don't know when the last time they had a thorough cleaning, but I'm guessing pre-COVID days. And that's a positive spin on things too. If I have left anything to doubt, let's cut through the niceties and spell it out. REALLY BAD!!!

Fantastic location to camp, with friendly and helpful Rangers and Camp Hosts. Wifi available in the village and some cell signal around the campsite.

The staff were very rude for no reason, campfires cannot go past 10pm which is a ridiculous rule for a camp site, and a there was not even hand soap in the bathroom. The park treats the campers pretty poorly because they’re not paying for a nice glamping setup or cabin. For example, they wouldn’t let us use the shower, even though its an expensive campsite on its own. Super crowded and very commercial.
@PhilipS266 · Camped on Mar 1, 2021 at Campsite #2
Was a great experience. Very quit even with all the motor homes and vans around my tent site until the third night when some yahoo noobie decided to run a loud generator during both dinner and breakfast. While within camp rules, completely disruptive and disrespectful of myself and other campers.

Bathrooms were very clean and well taken care of it. We have to clear snow to the fire pit and table as expected and warned with the reservation but the parking spot was free and clear of snow. Management of the crowds for firewalls was well done. The only thing that was disappointing were people lining up for food (to get into Deegans deli) with many not masking nor maintaining distance while waiting in line. Management of people once inside the building for ordering was good but not the line outside. This is not the parks fault but I think they could help manage this. Overall our experience otherwise was great.

We arrived after sunset and set up camp in the dark. We entered Yosemite park after dark as well so we didn't pay the park entrance fee (which is a separate charge/pass than simply making campsite reservations) and so we had to pay it on the way out. The $35 entrance fee offers a pass which is valid for sevne days and allows you to park anywhere in the park. The weekend we were there held many day visitors on Saturday when we hiked Vernal Falls (with masks to protect against COVID-19 not easy on that incline). It was in the thirties at night, so best bring equipment suited for such. On Sunday, we drove through the valley and thought about going to the Mariposa Grove before leaving back to OC, but there were far too many people and the road was closed in addition to there being very limited bus service so we would have either had to hike or wait a long time in a crowd. Upper Pines, despite the ranger kiosk displaying a sign that the campground was full, was hardly full. Either people didn't show up for their reservations or the park was limiting reservations due to covid (or a combo of both).Regardless, Upper Pines was beautiful as always and even with COVID-19 precautions affecting everything (not just in camping but in life) it seems that Upper Pines was ready for COVID-19 because of the precautions taken to prevent bears wandering in to the campsite. So those who were camping were both bear safe and COVID safe.It was just really cold though. :)

Location is great, and we were lucky to score a few nights during COVID while the park was not very crowded. There was no hand soap provided in the bathrooms though, which was surprising given that COVID sanitation requirements. Also, there are no showers, and we were told we could use the showers at curry village by one of the employers, but when we arrived at the showers we were told we needed to be staying at curry to use them (they ended up allowing us in, and they were really nice and totally empty so Im not sure why there was such stringent control over who uses them, perhaps its only like this during COVID). I would still highly recommend camping here, just expect to bring your own soap and have a shower/bath plan. After several days of cleaning off in the river we just needed something better!

Lovely place. Real dark at night. Very clean sites and clean bathrooms as well. Will go again and may be again.

came here in late october, and the campsite itself was awesome. Bathrooms were clean, ranger was friendly, and the site was pretty flat - overall, pretty awesome. Only minor complaint - being a tent camper in the fall, having the sound of a bunch of RV heaters kick on throughout the night can be a bit to deal with if you are a light sleeper.
