I love this campsite! Beautiful sites, close to the river and shuttle pickups, running water and bathrooms. Wonderful spot

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in July, and while we enjoyed our stay overall, it was not the greatest campground experience. The location was great, allowing us to just walk to the hikes we wanted to rather than battling with vehicle traffic. However, we had other people walking directly through our site the whole time we were there to get to the restrooms. If you are just camping here as a convenient place to sleep in between hikes/site seeing during the day, I can recommend this campground, but if you plan to relax and hang out at your site, you may want to look elsewhere.

I think the location in Yosemite Valley is great, but I otherwise didn't love the campground. The facilities are okay but nothing special. The sites are packed pretty closely together. This was okay on weeknights but on the weekends it was very noisy with neighbors not respecting quiet hours (both early and late) so there was only a small window for sleep. The air gets very smoky when campfires are allowed (between 5-10pm), with many people not following the rules and extinguishing their campfires at 10pm. I struggled with air quality here in a way that I haven't struggled at other campgrounds. Overall, I would consider camping here again on a weeknight, but I thought it was too noisy, busy, and smoky on weekends.

The campground had many gas powered generators from the campers and motorhomes that fired up at 7:00 AM every morning. I don't like to hear the noise that early! This campground doesn't get any sun this time of year, makes for a very cold day.

Restrooms could be updated, but always wonderful to be in Yosemite.

Stayed two nights at sites 78 & 46 in 2/2024 to see the fire falls @ the excellent Upper Pines Campground. Both sites are great and near the well maintained bathrooms. The camp host and the lady at the checkin post were very helpful and welcoming. Would certainly return to Upper Pines again! One suggestion to the NPS though: too many potholes on the loop roads, hope the problem be fixed soon.

It was a great campsite! Being next to the bathrooms was nice, theres no hand soap so make sure to take soap/hand sanitizer! Potable water is accessible and theres a place to dump your water as well. About a 10 minute drive to Yosemite Lodge. It had snowed the week before so we went snow-shoeing in Badger Pass to Dewey Point, which was so beautiful.

No complaints really. Except the heater in the women's bathroom by our campsite was not working. In the mens side the lights were not working art night

Good camping site in the eastern part of the Yosemite Valley close to the trails and to the shuttle stop. The only minor disadvantage was that there are no showers available in the vicinity. As always in Yosemite NP you should reserve within the first 10 seconds after the opening to secure a place.

It was fun camping in the snow and having the park pretty much to our selves. Didnt have to deal with crowds.

1). Campfires and Campground should be eliminated completely because the AQI caused by smoke is unacceptable, especially for people with asthma and health problems.2). The Rangers came around and cited several people in Campsite that had left food out in the late evening. Every evening that we were there after dark around 9 PM and on there was all sorts of chaos such as cars parking on the dirt not in the designated Campground areas and food being left out in the open in every campground. The Rangers were nowhere to be seen after about 8 PM. It would be highly favorable if Rangers would be on patrol in the evening, night hours through mornings!

We found Upper Pines to be a great home base to walk to the trailheads for Vernal/Nevada Falls and Mirror Lake which made much of our time easy (no driving!). It was my first time camping at Yosemite and my lesson learned was to kill time if you make it through the entry gates earlier than anticipated; I ended up circling the camp grounds waiting for the prior party to leave the campsite (they stayed until 11:54am for a noon check out). If I had known better, I would have enjoyed longer stops at the vistas coming in and hit up a restroom to delay arrival to after noon. We also had three cars for our party and were able to park the third car (as directed by the ranger) at the Trailhead lot which was an easy cut through from Upper Pines.

The location cannot be beaten as you are on the valley floor, and can basically walk or bike all over (we had perfect weather). We were told that camping was at 50% capacity. We had campers all around us, and on one side we even had a large group that took over two sites and decided to take over part of ours with their tents. They were not loud but we are in Covid times. As well the bathrooms were dirty the entire time we were there (mid-week), paper all over the floors and around the toilets; overall did not feel clean. I have to be honest here as we just spent two weeks going to National Parks in Utah and the camping was pristine. Super clean and spaced apart sites. We were kind of shocked by Yosemite.

Upon entry, a friendly Park Ranger checks you in and makes periodic rounds ensuring human and animal/environmental safely. Upper Pines provides optimal access to many hiking trails, including the infamous Mist Trail and Mirror Lake Trail. Each site has access to water and restroom facilities. Ive camped here several times and have nothing but fond memories of my time here in Yosemite Valley while residing in Upper Pines Campground.

The structure is good but the rangers sometimes can be a little annoying.
