The camp host Tony was amazing, went out of his way to make it so memorable for our two girls. He gets five stars! The overall campground experience was just okay, I went to the middle of a national park to enjoy peace and quiet from civilization and everyone wanted to bring loud music and generators. I wasnt the only one who felt this way, my neighbors were just as annoyed as I was. There is no power and everything for a reason, they shouldnt allow generators. You go camp in the middle of the woods for peace. We even went in the off season just to avoid this and it didnt go as planned.

Upper pines is a great site in Yosemite Valley. Except restrooms not very cleans.

Great campground. The sites are close to one another, but that didnt bother us. This campground was so hard to get into. Weonly could get one night. We would stay here again.

Convenient spot with a good mix of shade and sun. This one seems to have two different fire pits, which makes it flexible.

In winter this campground has a view of ice sheets falling down the rock face which is amazing to watch and hear. All camp sites are pretty much equal. The only complaint goes to campers who do not cancel their reservations. The camp ground was only 50% full despite being completely booked online.

Great vibe as campers were very respectful of the generator run times and the quite times and I would be remiss of I didn't give kudos to the camp hosts... Good bless them

Great site, short walk from start of Mist Trail. Camp sites are close together, but it does not feel cramped.

What a shame that there were so many unused Camp spots. The campground host that it was so hard on the park because people made their reservations in December and when gas and deisel prices went sky high people couldn't afford to come and didn't bother to cancel their reservation. There were so many people begging for spots but they couldn't release the spots.

The campground was wonderful. Tucked into the Merced River Canyon it is a cooler, shadier campground (we were there in March). No hookups but that didnt bother us as we normally boondock in our motorhome. Mixed tents and motorhomes, but most observed generator hours. Trams were running on a minimized schedule which made getting around the valley more difficult.Several trails begin near the campground, notably the John Muir trail to Vernal and Nevada Falls. The trails to Mirror Lake start here as well.Simply lovely.

The available space to place your tent is at a slant. And if your neighbors also have tents or multiple tents, it gets a little crowded. Luckily for most of our trip our neighbors to each side were staying in their vehicles.

We have camped at upper pines several times and found it very pleasant as always. The rangers were helpful and the campers were friendly. Yosemite was beautiful after the rain. It was hard to leave!

Wonderful flat sites in a tall forest with amazing views in all directions. Fire rings and picnic tables abounded. Proximity to the river added to the atmosphere as well. It was a bit crowded with a high number of people per site, but the vast majority of groups were quiet and respectful.

Only gripes: it's a bit of a tight fit for longer rigs, and the asphalt doesn't always extend to the end of the marked-off parking area, effectively making the parking area much smaller than it appears since tires have to be on the asphalt.

Clean and nice campground. Host (John) helped when I had trouble with my flat tire. Really appreciated that.

Getting reservations was painful. We had a spot Friday and Sunday nights. We booked at 7am on Jan 15th. Booking spots has become a sport that is likely to be dominated by software bots.

This was an extra special visit because of covid protocols. At least 1/2 of the campgrounds were empty. Awesome! All the campers were extremely respectful and friendly. Also the camp hosts were super helpful and friendly as well.

A must stay kind of place! Make sure to bring warm items if you go during the cold months. There was snow on the mountain tops which made the experience amazing. Tunnel view is a pleasure to see at any time of day. The park rangers are on top of keeping the area wonderful and safe. I recommend camping in the park!!
