What a beautiful place! If you have never been here, you've got to come. The day use pass was easy to get online. I stayed at Tuolumne Meadows campground. The only bummer--- many of the campsites were not level at all. My site, A52 even with risers, couldn't get my RV CLOSE to level. As I walked around the campground, I would say maybe 60% of the sites were that way.

THE best campground Yosemite has to offer. If you want to get away from the Valley for a few days, this is the spot. The campgrounds are nice and spaced out, and you feel much closer to nature given that the area is not as busy as the valley. The campsite is backed up against the forest, so we were able to spot deer (and even a bear) at a distance. The only advice I have is to prepare for it to get COLD at night, and to bring lanterns/flashlights because the bathrooms can be a bit of a walk in the dark depending where you're located. There's a short walk down to the river which is absolutely beautiful, and Tenaya Lake is a short drive away. The area is also full of gorgeous hikes, so be sure to ask a park ranger for a recommendation.

Great location with many hikes nearby - either flat and easy or long and difficult. The meadows are beautiful at sunset!
Covid has been kind to Yosemite. The closures and visitor limits have restored peace, quiet, and rejuvenation to the park.

Campsites fairly spaces out, make sure you check the size of the bear boxes as they are on the smaller side but overall a great stay. Worth mentioning that the bathrooms were very well maintained as well. Great experience.

Enjoyed a fine campsite in this iconic location. Very quiet/peaceful. A short walk to the well-stocked Tuolumne Meadows Store.

The roads/paths to drive to the sites were very rough and at times benefited from high clearance, which I did not have. Generally the road quality was worse than other campgrounds.
The sites were also very packed together. Given the reduced capacity at this time, I don't know why nearby sites were all filled

We're sad the campground will be closed the next two years and look forward to an even better experience

I am very disappointed with how Recreation.gov and the campground treated the fire situation at Fallen Leaf campground. I was monitoring the air quality for a week and it was great, but today it became extremely bad and I decided to cancel the campground. Unfortunately the recreation.gov would not refund me the full amount (they refunded me only $26 out of $72) be cause no matter how bad the air quality is, the campground is still open.

Campsite is very tight so expect to be close to your neighbors. This part of Yosemite is excellent and totally worth it.

Excellent! Solo camped for 3 days/nights with my dogs. Clean campground & campsite. Kudos to the volunteers, rangers, & maintenance personnel! Dogs aren't allowed on trails in National Parks, rather than driving into Yosemite Valley, I opted to take the dogs to hike the Saddlebag Lake Loop in Inyo National Forest---SWEET! If you hike the "loop", start at the east trailhead and (due to the amount of shale on the trail, this route is recommended by the locals & "loop" experienced hikers) return the same route (or utilize the boat shuttle for an across-the-lake shuttle back to the parking area). Be sure to hike beyond Saddlebag Lake to the other lakes contained in "Twenty Lakes Basin"---Greenstone Lake is the perfect spot for a picnic!

Tuolumne Meadows as well as the rest of Yosemite is GREAT! But the campground is overcrowded, despite the fact that the amount of people is smaller, and there is no way to reserve anything there until at least the rest of the Summer. Their solution is a bit weird, since they put all the people in loops A and B (some C-loop sites are open also), but the rest of the huge campground is simply empty. As a result, there is no possibility to do any social distancing (whatsoever), restrooms in loops A and B are not clean at all, all sites left and right are occupied. We been to this campground around 20 times within last 20 years, therefore we can actually compare things. To the bright side, the host and rangers are very nice and friendly this year:). Also lots of deers and marmots everywhere:).

Gorgeous area, easy walk from Tuolumne river and the Dog Lake/Lembert Dome trailhead. Site was comfortable, though roads to parking spots were somewhat rocky so be careful. Rangers were friendly and helpful.

Camped in a 16' RV. Had a little bit of difficulty getting the vehicle somewhat level. Beautiful surroundings , really enjoyed Gaylor Lakes Basin if you are hiking in the area. Campground bathrooms are what they are, but the one near us was a little bit in need of maintenance even by campground standards. Still a great experience, highly recommend.

We were given a site right next to Lyell creek and it was a great jumping off pint for day hikes and fly fishing. The grill down the street served up some great food and the surrounding settings couldnt have been more beautiful. It was me, my wife and our 3 and 5 year old and because it was late in the year, the nights were cold. I fished every day and was able to catch a brown trout nearby our campsite. We spent the last day packing up and driving to Tuolumne lodge where we parked and hiked to the twin bridges section of Tuolumne meadows. This was a trip Ive been looking forward to for a long time and I cant wait to go back.

Tuolumne was beautiful and the facilities were in great shape. The only downside is I lost my National Parks pass in the parking lot that leads to Puppy Boulders.Overall, we had an amazing time!

Tuolumne Meadows is one of my best places to spend summer weekend. I usually go for climbing during a day, and jump into Tenaya Lake after. It is so relaxing and great to spend some time in nature.

Loved camping here - we had a great time and enjoyed the quiet. I do wish they would be more specific on the website when booking in the dog-friendly sites that dogs are ONLY allowed on the pavement, that threw a curveball at us when we arrived. The sites were clean and restrooms all clean and well maintained. We love the easy access to all the trails and fishing nearby, it was such a nice experience, we can't wait to go back!

Staying at Tuolumne Meadows was an amazing experience! My family and I enjoyed the spacious campsites and their proximity to the John Muir Trail. What a treat to see the convoy of donkeys and the trail master on his regular trek to the High Sierra Base Camp. On our hike we saw such beautiful waterfalls and fauna that we were snapping pictures every few minutes. We also enjoyed having a talk with your interpretive guides at "Parsons Lodge" as well as visiting the Store after our full day's hike. Thank you!
