We just had a great 4 night stay Oct 15-18 at Lower Pines. It was quieter than Upper Pines with fewer large rigs and very little generator use. Facilities were well maintained and we loved that recycling and garbage collection is convenient.

I travelled there May 2024 - The only reason it's not a 5 star rating is because there was SO MUCH Road work being done! and the Generator Hours. 2 hour increments 3 different times a day. : ( Maybe they should had hook ups so to keep park quiet. At night, they need to be off by 7 p.m. but the camp fires are able to keep going til 10 p.m. The only reason this a problem is the valley floor is really warm and gets smoky easily which makes it pretty tough in a R.V. (no air with no generator)The site I we were in, lower pines 037 and 038 were the most beautiful site ever! We had an unobstructed view of Half Dome. And partial shade too. Many sites didn't have much shade. Be prepared for very sparse cell reception, just an occasional text would come through. My carrier is Verizon. I loved having our bikes with us. The park has bike racks everywhere to lock up. I rode to Vernal Falls and locked up bike to go hike. Same with Yosemite Falls and so on.Getting a reservation is not easy! I just got lucky to get 2 nights !!!! All in All it's well worth it! Yosemite is Amazing

One of the only campgrounds in Yosemite Valley. The campsites have more than enough room, that's really a plus. The toilets were disgusting and not cleaned in the 1,5 day we were there. Toilet paper and diapers on the ground..

Everything was excellent except that you couldnt just walk to the river right next to the campsite because they have it blocked off to let bushes grow. Also, at night the flashlights wouldnt stop. A truck rolled into camp at 12:19 am. Kind of loud at night.

Breathtaking location! Lots of space. Good sized plots. Restrooms were simple but adequate. Youll need something to wash dishes in. There were no washing bowls in any of the shops in the Valley and other guests got very upset when you just use the tap. Try a long life shopping bag from Camp Curry if you find yourself in this situation - theyre 100% waterproof.

Loved our campsite! The view of Half Dome was amazing! The campground was quiet, and our site was huge! It is so convenient to stay in the park. It really facilitated us having the best experience possible at Yosemite.

Obviously, it is almost impossible to get Yosemite campground reservations most of the time. We felt very lucky to score on a cancelled reservation, often when only one or two sites opened up. The rest of the campground was supposedly booked. Yet the same night that the campground was supposed to be full, I saw many sites left vacant. I wonder how many other nights I could have camped in the park instead of an hour+ drive outside the park. Due to the tremendous popularity of camping within the park, I believe there should be a significant disincentive to encourage those with reservations to cancel within a reasonable time (so others can plan to use the site). Those that don't cancel, and don't show, should also be charged a significant fee to discourage that practice.

Gorgeous location, amazing views nearby! Fun to find the Indian Caves, not on any map.

We had an amazing experience at Lower Pines Campground. We had a great site next to the river. We water was still flowing down the falls in August and the park is spectacular. We loved our experience. We had a coyote walk through our camp one morning, minding his own business. Be sure to take your raft so you can float down the river. There are so many amazing places to hike or sit and enjoy the beauty of this park. Take in all the waterfalls, views and just experience nature because no electronic can beat this beautiful place. Hiking is best if you leave early in the morning or head out in the evening. I would love to go back someday.
