This campsite was great- right by the river for easy access, close to the trails and roads, easy to find, and quiet compared to some of the other areas. The only downside was the light is always on at the kiosk nearby so it wasnt as dark as I would have liked for sleeping.

The location can't be beat! We were at Lower Pines Campground for 4 nights. Originally booked for two nights at one campsite and two nights at a second site, after a cancellation, we were able to stay for 3 nights at the second site. The fiery orange view of Half-Dome at sunset, the Merced River with the spectacular reflections of the granite cliffs, and night climbers with their headlamps shining on the full moon mountainside were magical. It would be nice if there was soap in the restrooms, and we ran into multiple folks having to switch their campsite every night to stay 2, 3, or 4 nights. I don't think there is much to be done about that, but it's worth some thought. Definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world to sleep under the stars!

I was next to the camp hosts and they were very nice. I really liked the spot but, if you're planning to come and go by car, the parking space can get blocked for short periods with people entering the campground. Spacious site.

If you are going to camp in Yosemite Valley, then Lower Pines is a must. Everyone is so friendly and there is a sense of community when staying here.

Great campsite. Way less crowded and with more campsite space than Upper Pines which is across the street. FYI Curry Village is right across the street with hot showers that are open 24/7 and also has some food options and a general store for those who need that which is super convenient. Vernal Falls hike is maybe a 10-minute walk from here. Definitely recommend

close to entrance and check in area, near the Host site, it's a good size campsite with double parking slot, close to river bank with a good view of Half Dome

We HATED this campground, it should be avoided at all costs. Don't go here.Volunteer Jack is way too friendly and helpful, and everyone should just stay away......so we can get a reservation here whenever we want! Still reading? Hopefully not and more room for us!!On ok, here's more deets:Flushing toilets and running water but no soap so BYO. Fire pits allowed 5-10pm only. Generator can be run only certain times: 7-9am, 12-2pm, etc. Bear boxes at each site, which is standard. Merced River not far so plan your floaties...we brought our boogie boards!! Walking distance to Curry Village and the shuttle pickup is nearby!

It was the first time we camped at Lower Pines. We have been to Yosemite to camp for years. Lower Pines sites are very spacious, located near Curry Village, Nature Isle and Mirror Lake. The campground hosts were wonderful. They were attentive to our questions. From Lower Pines, one can look up and gaze upon Half Dome.

During the pandemic, it was nicely spaced and clean bathrooms. The campgrounds were spacious too.
