Was at an uneven campground but knew that ahead of time. Only a 40 minute drive into the valley with plenty of wonderful pull overs and scenery.

The bathroom was nearby and very clean, but our campsite 27 has too much of a slope. Everything just rolls down the hill. Other than that, everything was great

It's a Yosemite campground, with all that entails. So there's beautiful scenery to admire while you're cheek-by-jowl with hundreds of other people scrambling to get into the park and campground. The state of the campground facilities (restrooms in particular) are clear evidence that the park is completely overburdened. I'm not sure how to solve this problem, or even if it can be solved. Regardless of what the NPS does, there's just no way you can fit every person in the world who wants their very own selfie with Half Dome into the park.So yeah, it's a Yosemite campground. It's as good a spot as any to set up base camp before plunging into the chaos to try to catch one last glimmer of what Yosemite was like just a few decades ago before it was overrun. And if you're one of the countless hordes who are looking to tick another box on your list, it's about a 30 minute drive to Tunnel View (that's the background for all your friends' Instagram pics of Yosemite), and about 45 minutes to the Valley (the other background-of-choice for all your social media needs).

Didnt realize I booked a walk-up campsite because I didnt realize these existed in regular campgrounds, I assumed there were regular drive up grounds and backpackers camps so my i had to switch sites due to the rooftop tent thats mounted to my truck. Fortunately the camp host had 2 emergency sites so he switched me to one where we could drive up. It was incredibly noisey, there were ppl with gas generators, kids screaming everywhere, car alarms going off at all hours. The hosts were going around each camp site giving warnings to each and every violation they saw and the police even had to come due to a fight between to campsites. There is very few sites that are actually flat, It was by no means ideal, we typically camp disersed or at White Wolf & Tuolumne Meadows but the fact that I made a mistake when RSVPing and they still found a way to accommodate me is deserving of a 3rd star. Thanks Scott!

We camped at three different sites within Hogdon Meadow, each more beautiful than the last! It was so peaceful at night sitting around the fire and enjoying the smell of pines. I cant wait to go back next year :)
