Although the quality of the places can differ quite a lot, this compact campground is a good base to stay when visiting Yosemite. Basic facilities, bear boxes, fire ring and picnic tables.

Not the Peaceful Nature Getaway We Hoped ForWe were really looking forward to our stay here, but unfortunately, it didnt quite live up to expectations. First off, the quiet hours are clearly posted, but not enforced at all. People were loud well past the designated time, making it tough to relax or get a good nights sleep. The bigger issue, though, was the bees. They were everywhere and incredibly aggressive, constantly landing on our food, even while we were holding it. It got so bad we had to retreat to either our tent or the car just to eat in peace. Not exactly the outdoor experience we were hoping for.The location itself has potential, but between the noise and the bee situation, it wasnt the relaxing trip we had in mind.

Our site was clean. Rangers were present and helpful. Bathrooms, although old, were cleaned daily. Quiet hours were respected. My family had a wonderful time and will certainly be back again.

This is my most favorite campsite in Yosemite. I had a great time there last weekend. It was very quiet and peaceful. Perfect for fall camping. I'll definetary come back next year too.

Ok, we have an RV 20 feet. not perfectly leveled like almost all of the sites here. if placed crosswise it's a little better.

Almost NONE of all sites' enable you to level your RV enough to sleep without a struggling to lift two or even 3 wheels by up to 6 inches or more! This campground was too old or NOT well designed for RV camping. The only Pro is the nearby location to the Valley and maybe the pretty meadow for short walk. We booked 2 nights but only used only 1st one because we found a much better "Diamond-O" campground for our 2nd nights (paid extra) when we passed by after Hetch Hetch visit, which is only 5-6 miles from Hodgedon. I would highly recommend Diamond-O for all Yosemite RV campers no matter you are planning to visit Hetch Hetch or NOT. It was a very new facility with perfect leveled parking and tent pad, which will make your camping experience much more enjoyable!
