I've been to 10 out of the 13 Yosemite campgrounds, and I must say that Crane Flat is high up on my list of favorite campgrounds. The entire campground is surrounded by mossy pines, and has decent shade (depending on what time of day it is.) The bathrooms are clean, and the toilets flush great. The only downside is that a lot of the sites are small, and there is a lot of dusty dirt at each site. It's easy to get dusty/dirty fast because of this. I booked a double site, which gave my family more space to camp and spread out. It's more money, but worth it if you have a family of five or more. For those who are curious what my other favorite campgrounds are, my most favorite ones are Bridalveil (1st), White Wolf (2nd), and a tie between Tamarack Flat and Crane Flat (3rd.) I have yet to camp at Yosemite Creek, but I have a feeling it will make the top list as well.

We stayed here a couple of days before staying in the valley and it was a great campground to visit the northern parts of Yosemite and points along the Tioga Road. It is busy and open so you can see all the other campers around you but you are still surrounded by nature and beautiful trees. Had a bathroom with running water and flush toilets but no soap (due to bears) so make sure to pack your own soap and hand towels. There was also a handy water spout to fill water bottles/bladders. Had an amazing time here and in Yosemite!
