What a wonderful place to camp! Plenty of room at each campsite and we weren't on top of our neighbors. Site had a campfire/grill. Just stunning surroundings. Saw other campsites that looked so crowded! I would definitely stay in Crane Flat again! Conveniently located to El Capitan, the Falls and Half Dome. Great hiking, too.

We loved this campsite. Some really nice flat spots for tents and the fire pit table and bear boxes were very convenient. I liked the flushable toilets in the bathrooms, but the sinks would have been a lot better if they had soap or sanitizer. Other than some yahoo who couldn't figure out how to turn off their car alarm at 5:30 am, and another environmental do-gooder who had the gall to tell us off for idling our truck to pump up some sleeping pads at 8:30 pm (it wasn't even loud and the sun had just barely set) we had a very positive experience.

Beautiful campground, we were fortunate to find a last minute weekend site. Close enough to the valley to drive there in the morning in under an hour, but far enough a way to be able to enjoy the nature and fewer people. The wildlife precautions are not to be trifled with; we saw a bear around the treeline a few hundred yards from the campsites a little after arriving late afternoon, Use the bear boxes!
